I am back today not only as your guest designer this month, but now, as a new team member! I feel so blessed to be working for Helmar and I am excited for the upcoming months where I can share with you fun ways to use their products!
This is the time of year that my creative genes start kicking in full gear. I am already thinking of unique-one-of-a-kind gifts for Christmas. All my gifts are homemade and I already have my check list half way crossed off. This year, I want to actually enjoy December and not be crunched on time too close to the holidays!
Here is an afternoon project that will for sure make someone happy this coming season. I created this sweet vintage styled bib necklace using Helmar's 450 Quick Dry and May Art's ribbon and lace.
For supplies you will need:
May Art's ribbon and lace
button
Viva Decor Pearl Pen (in white and/or ivory)
chain (from beading department)
non-stick craft sheet
2 jump rings
felt scraps
I have a quick video to show you how I assembled the ribbon onto the felt to make flowers for the bib necklace. It is sped up for viewer's enjoyment. ;)
When the bib was dry, I then slipped jump rings through the holes in the lace and added the chain with a ribbon tie for the back.
The only thing that I would recommend doing differently is making pearls on a non-stick craft sheet with the Decor Pearl Pen. When dry, I would remove the pearl from the craft sheet and use 450 Quick Dry on the back to glue it onto the necklace. In the video, you see me applying the Pearl Pen directly on the fabric and it actually changed the color of the pearl. I ended up making some on my craft sheet and adding them with 450 Quick Dry later. I also made a large pearl this way and put it in the middle of the button to add even more vintage appeal.
You can also do the same technique and use 450 Quick Dry to glue it to a stretchy headband for a cute hair accessory.
I hope you enjoyed this project! I look forward to sharing some more gift ideas in the weeks to come!
