Hi there! Today I am going to show you how to make another snowman ornament. For the Helmar Holiday hop, I shared a felt snowman ornament. Today, I am showing you how to make one from Styrofoam. (Now, I know a lot of you find Styrofoam hard to use but I assure you...these ornaments are simple to make and look cute too!)
The only glue you need for this project is Helmar Acid Free Glue. It works the best with Styrofoam!
Now that you have the base complete, it is time to decorate your snowman! I used these items to decorate mine:
I added the two black brads for eyes. I put a drop of Helmar Acid Free Glue on the tips of the brads before I pressed them into the face to ensure that they stay!
I cut a semi circle of rhinestones to add for the mouth. The nose was cut from cardstock and attached with Helmar Acid Free Glue. I added some orange stickles over it after it dried.
I created the hat using an old pair of flannel pajamas. I basically used this tutorial to make it.
After the hat is made, I added the jump ring around it and added a little jingle bell. I attached the hat at the top of the snowman (where the dowel was sticking up) using Helmar Acid Free Glue.
I wrapped the scarf around the snowman's neck and added a little baker's twine and a felt heart.
Hope you like this ornament. It was really fun and easy to make!
