So last week I showed you a little canvas mini album I created to capture the memories of my son's love of playing outside in the garden. This week I wanted to show you the house I created to keep this album in and protect it.
Whilst shopping at our local hardware I came across the perfect little house for this album. It was a cream metal watering can like the green one below.
I just loved it, and thought it was just about perfect, only I wanted to get a whole lot more creative with it. I started by taking my Helmar 450 Quick Dry and adhering pieces of patterned paper to the can to cover it. I did this by first taking a rough pattern of the can and then gluing it down. My Helmar 450 Quick Dry grabbed so well it was a real breeze.
I then coloured the chrome handle and nozzle end with some Glimmer Glam to give it more of a copper look. The paper was then sprayed a little with glimmer mists, stamped on and then embellished with vines, flowers and canvas die cut resist flowers and leaves. These were all suck down with my Helmar 450 Quick dry and with Helmar Liquid scrap dots for those that needed a little dimension. I also added the photo and little nest of eggs to the watering can using some Helmar Liquid scrap dots. All that was then needed was the title and I had created this little house for my album and this is the result:
This is the album that is now perfectly matched to it's little house.
Here is a close up of the vines on the watering can and my son's cheeky smile :)
I hope you have enjoyed my little share today. I have been busy over the last month and a half enjoying the lovely summer weather we are having here in Australia and creating many more memories that I will enjoy capturing in my future scrapbooking. Hope you are getting the opporunity to do the same which ever part of the world you live in.
