Hello there, Kisha here today to share an embellished journal I created. These journals make for such nice gifts for any occasion or just because. Most journals you purchase are very lovely as they are; however adding dimensional elements just enhances the beauty. With the graduation, mother's day and more special dates approaching, this is the perfect gift to give.
To start, gather items you would like to use to embellish your journal
I began by adhereing a patterned paper base to the cover of the journal using Helmar's Craft and Hobby PVC Glue. This adhesive gives me ample adjustment time yet holds strong once dry.
Continue to add layers of pattern paper to achieve the dimension you want.
Next I begin adding my embellishments. Here I have a die cut dress form that I've altered. I used 1/2" round Zap Dots to adhere the dress form so it will have some dimension to it. For the narrow sections of the dress form, I just cut the Zap Dot to the width needed.
Here is a bling flower brad that originally came attached to the journal but was in an awkward space. I removed it, cut away the clips and used Helmars Scrap Dots as a clear dimensional adhesive.
And here's the final product. All dressed up with some place to go. This is such a fun and easy gift to create for that special someone.
