Hello my fellow crafters! Today I have a layout for using using material. Adding material to you layout adds texture which is stunning and probably not captured well in the photos. To keep with my theme of using other materials other than paper I have also added real feathers.
Dream Catchers are stunning and I really wanted to create a special one for this gorgeous photo of my daughter.
I have also added a cork heart to add more texture, scrapbooking layouts certainly can be more than just paper and card!
I firstly cut a round piece of material to fit under my paper Dream Catcher.
I used Helmar Fray stop to ensure my material would not fray on the edges and show on the edges of my Dream Catcher.
I then used the Helmar fabric glue to attach to my Dream Catcher and 12x12 inch paper base. It dried quickly and with no bumps or wrinkles!
I used the Helmar fabric glue to attach the feathers, gluing only the centre line so they would still look soft and like they were floating (which are ostrich feathers from a craft store), they adhered beautifully.
To attach my paper embellishments I used the Helmar Premium Craft glue and for the heavier embellishments such as cork I have used Helmars 450 Quick Dry glue.
For my title and butterfly to add height and create a 3D effect I have used Helmar liquid scrap dots.
As you can see from this layout scrapbooking is much more than just paper but when using different material types you really do need to use the correct adhesives to ensure your layout will be just as it is today in years to come!
Thank you for stopping by today and see you soon xXx
