I’m always looking for ways to create unique gift sets for family and friends. It’s easy to do when you combine your love for scrapbooking with preserving family memories. These days we are all looking for ways to save money, yet not sacrifice the joy in giving gifts to others. I find making my own gifts affordable. Stamp sets are a great value because you can use them over and over again. Here I embellished a small canvas tote that I purchased from the local craft store and created an album to fit inside. Here are the supplies and instructions on how I made this set….
Supplies Used:
Stampendous! Four Flower Squares Set (SSC171)
Hirschberg Schutz & Col. It’s so me! Canvas Bag
Zutter 4” x 4” Canvas Art Board Covers & ¾” O’Wires
Bo-bunny Ribbon
Mark Richards Crystal Accents
Memories Black Ink Pad & Cardstock
Pentel Fabric Fun Pastel Dye Sticks
Instructions:
1. Using Stampendous! Four Flowers Square SSC171 Set, stamp the canvas tote with permanent ink.
2. With fabric crayons, color in the flower petals.
3. Use Helmar Gemstone Glue to secure the gems on the tote bag.
4. On the mini album, I used Zutter Canvas Covers that I brushed with green acrylic paint. Once the paint dried I stamped a flower on the cover using a Stampendous! Flower stamp.
5. Cut out coordinating cardstock for album pages, I used bright green cardstock.
6. Use the Zutter Bind-it-All tool and the ¾” Black O’Wire to bind the album together.
7. Embellish the album cover by coloring the flower with fabric crayons.
8. Apply black gems to the cover using Helmar Gemstone Glue.
9. Tie ribbons on the album and tote.
10. Tuck the album in the tote and use as a gift.

Here we are on the 3rd of September and what do I want to play with.....pink, lime green, and turquoise. I know, it should be Fall colors of beautiful rich leaves and golden sunsets. But, that is not what calls to me at the moment, so buttons and bright colors, it is.

I decided to try a little twist on my regular button use and went with a stamped version design. Stamping on buttons is very easy and alot of fun. I always find that it adds a pretty textured look, in a quick and easy fashion.
Process:
1)Gather individual patterned Stamps.
2)Stamp on button top and let dry.
3) Add random lacing through buttons.
4) When adding to layout, add Helmar's Liquid Scrapdots or Helmar's Clear Liquid Adhesive.
The lift of the button and ribbons is using Helmar's Liquid Scrapdots.
The fluffy ribbon is actually stiff, being solidified in Fabric Stiffner & Draping Liquid.
(Just run the ribbon through the stiffner and let dry. )
This is my little niece Katie, from a few summers ago. I really thought the pretty new Dreamstreet papers would highlight the fresh look of summer and her pretty eyes and little lips.

CHA Summer 2009 was held in Oralndo, Florida and by golly was it hot! I felt like I was wrapped in Saran Wrap the whole time when I was not freezing my you-know-what off in the air conditioning. But I digress.
Working at the Helmar Booth is always a ton of fun. As usual I had my pre-show jitters and wondered if the kit was ok?, would I find my creative mo-jo?, would people have fun?, would all the parts be in the kits?, what did I forget?, do I have my deodorant on?, what is Obama doing about health care reform? and a whole other host of worries. Right away on my first class I found my mo-jo, the kits seemed to be a hit, lots of people were smiling, we got all the supplies we needed, posters were made, my deodorant held up great and that health care reform thing would have to wait. Despite the lower turnout to the trade show as a whole, Mark Ripper (owner of Helmar Australia) and myself knocked it out of the park. I was not sure if women were stopping by to hear his Australian accent or take my make 'n take but no matter what the booth stayed busy.

Did I mention that none of our glues made it to the show (freight company lost)? If it were not for the last minute decision to throw extra glues in with the make 'n takes we would have been in some deep trouble. It is hard to be a glue company with no glue. But we diverted a tragedy and my deodorant held strong.
