And this is what it looks like after it dried! What a difference! Glossy, shiny and dimensional! You can even add more dimension to your project after the Textured Effects dries, just add another layer! Isn't it perfect for this Pink Paislee Paper??

If you ask me to look at pictures of your kids or grandkids, be prepared to do a little ooohing and aaaahing over my pets.
I created this little mini book with pictures of all of my animals (currently 3 dogs, 2 cats, a turtle and a fish) that clips right onto the strap of my purse – so I am always ready to whip out pictures to show you how cute my pets are!
The photos are printed in contact sheet size. For my title page, I stamped the word “bark” using My Stamp Box clear stamps onto Scribble Scrabble patterned paper and then cut each letter out. I also used the colon punctuation stamp from this set to create the pattern on my tree trunk. I used the Helmar 450 Quick Dry, applied with a foam brush to the front of each paper page, then pressed the paper page onto the acrylic album page. As you can tell from the photos, Helmar really does dry crystal clear. You cannot see ANY trace of glue through the acrylic pages.
Thanks for stopping by, and be careful if you run into me and want to show me pictures, I may beat you to the punch!

The Christmas season is such a busy time of year for many, many people! This is the time of year when you see people throwing themselves into a blur of activities - shopping, cooking, baking, and crafting. I think we all channel our inner Martha Stewart or at least try to!
In my house my decorating loves lean towards vintage, homemade, old fashioned which is why I made these homemade fabric ornaments.
Let me show you how easy these ornaments are to make using Helmar Fabric Stiffener & Draping Liquid , Helmar Premium Craft Glue, some fabric, embroidery floss and buttons. I used burlap fabric as my base.
Cut out a star shape from your burlap fabric. You can use a template or if your really creative you can free cut. I'm not so creative so I found a star template on line and used that.
Coat both sides of the burlap fabric with the Fabric Stiffener and allow to dry. When the glue is completely dry your ornaments will be hardened and no longer a flimsy fabric. I inked the edges of my burlap to give it a more rustic look. You can too or not or use different ink colors to coordinate with your fabric or style. You could even use glitter glue or stickles.
Cut out a smaller star from your coordinating fabric and this time only coat the front of your fabric with the glue. This will still stiffen the fabric but give you enough give to free hand stitch around the outer edge with your floss.
Once that is dry stitch around the edges with your floss. Attach the smaller star to the larger star using the Premium Craft Glue.
Then attach a button to the center.
Hole punch the top of the star and thread twine through the hole to create the hanger.
These would be terrific on your own tree. They are easy enough to do as a craft time with your children and also would make terrific gifts.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope Martha is pleased!

With all the sniffling, sneezing, coughing and general yuckiness that seems to be running rampant, I seem to only be pulling “feel better” cards out of my stash to send. Last week I was running low, and in the brief time period between my own children’s illnesses I managed to replenish my supply a bit. I have a feeling I’m going to need them!
This card features Helmar Adhesives paired with products from preferred partners Pink Paisley and Clear Scraps. The paper is bright and fun and cheery, and anyone’s mood can be improved with cupcakes!
To start, I cut a 6x6” cardstock base with a top fold. I added a 5x5” square of dotted paper from the Cupid collection, held in place with Helmar Quick Fix Permanent Adhesive Runner. I sewed around the edges using a zig-zag stitch and pink thread. On top, I layered a 4.5”x3” piece of green paper straight stitched with dark green thread and and a 1x3” piece of striped paper stitched with a wide zig-zag and white thread, both using Permanent Adhesive Runner.
I created the cupcake embellishment using one page of the acrylic Clear Scraps Cupcake Mini Album. I sponged the front of the cupcake with white opaque solvent ink and heat set the ink. I used Helmar Acid Free Glue to outline the cupcake and add the center “frosting” lines and added "Pixie Stix” glitter in Berry Blue. After shaking off excess and allowing the glue to dry completely, I added a red gem “cherry” to cover the album hole. I added a sticker letter sentiment after securing the cupcake embellishment to the card using Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots.
Stay Healthy!

Really, before you started paper-crafting - how silly would this have sounded to you!?
World Card Making Day was celebrated on 10/03/09. Normally, I am not a card maker (it takes me just as long to create a card as it does a 12 X 12 layout!!) but I participated in a few challenges at the online crops at two of my fave message boards, had me some Helmar and some Pink Paislee, and am actually quite pleased with the results!
Gotta tell you girls, making cards is a lot easier and a lot more fun when you have the right glues! Check out my cards, I listed each Helmar adhesive with the card element I used it on in the supply list.
Also, just a tip from me, I love to bring my card design to the inside of the card - just a sliver of paper, a stamp or rub-on really makes a "finished" card!
Now, I just have to find a "card worthy" person to present these to!
Thanks for stopping by!
Shelly
