We think that we'll always remember those "milestone" moments - when our child or grandchild takes their first steps, says their first words, loses their first tooth. The truth is, the older we get the shorter our memory gets and the details of those moments tend to get a little "fuzzy". To this day my father looks at photos of me and my sisters as babies and has trouble figuring out who was who. Therein lies the very reason that most of us scrapbook. Oh sure its fun, but making sure that we document those moments so that they aren't forever lost is really important.
My youngest daughter finally lost her first tooth in October! After watching her older sister lose tooth after tooth she was starting to think it would never happen for her, so making a page about that was a must. This is one of those events where the photo really tells the story, so I added just a tiny amount of journaling and put my focus on the fabulous photo.
I used my Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner to put together the page. which makes it a snap. Believe it or not, this is CHRISTMAS paper from Fancy Pants! I wanted something red to match Anna's shirt, and this paper seemed to work. I inked the edges of the pages before putting them down, then I added a big grungeboard "1" that I colored with the same ink. I used an Ancient Page ink pad, then I painted over that with "Smooch" from Clearsnap. I used the myStampBOX "Snapshot" stamp set for the photo corner, which I attached using a large foam Zapdot.
Thank you to Helmar Preferred Partners Fancy Pants, Clearsnap and myStampBOX for providing the wonderful product for this layout.
See you next time,
Marci
