Good morning all you crafty Helmar fans!
Can you believe May is almost half over? It is time for me to start making cards
and getting ready for the kids to be home.
I made this card for my son's Home-Ec teacher.
It took me quite a few tries but I got it, and decided to share a how-to with you!
This is the front of the card.
This is the back of the card. I will try to get a video tutorial for this bow up next week.
I did those book print bows and they were so fun I decided to try it with scrap paper,
and after several tries I figured out how to make it work.
The folded apron waist was tricky too but finally managed to get it folded "fabric-like"
Here is a template I scanned, you need to click on it then print it out onto a regular sheet of printer paper. You can resize in any photo program if needed.
You will NEED to cut out 2 of the card templates, one in cardstock for inside and one with double sides patterned paper.
This is the inside after I made the ruffle and stitched it on.
Now fold the cardstock in half and run Helmar Scrapdots around edge and a few dots in middle, then place cardstock inside card and allow to dry for at least 30 minutes.
It looks much better with the cardstock insert.
I hand cut a 1.5X1.5 pocket and added a top to the pocket for a more realistic look.
For the back I added more folded paper, and a paper bow, I attached it with the almighty and awesome Helmar 450 Quick Dry!
I know there are so many card makers out there who can make a better one, one that is waaaayyyy more fabulous! So send those creations in!!!
As always you can find more video tutorials and projects on my blog
