Happy Monday everyone! I hope you are enjoying a fabulous morning! You will have to excuse that corny title...LOL. It was all I could come up with when my mind is just about gone! I did not sleep hardly any this weekend and am about ready to drop. But the show must go on and I have a new project that I created over the weekend to share with you using some awesome Helmar Adhesives.
Has this ever happened to you? You stumble upon some gemstones buried deep in your scrappy stash, but when you pull them out to use, the adhesive on the back has lost its luster? Of course, you do not want to just toss them in the trash can. Well, this gave me the perfect excuse to pull out a Helmar adhesive that I have not had the opportunity to try...the Helmar Gemstone Glue. The Gemstone Glue is a water based washable glue that is perfect for things such as beads, rhinestones, pearls, and mirrors. I was really impressed with it!
I cut this gate fold card out using my Cricut Expression and Sure Cuts A Lot Software. This is another svg freebie I found while surfing the net. After cutting, I scored in the appropriate places with a bone folder and folded over the card flaps. I used some Colorbox Chalk Ink to ink up the edges. Next, I adhered all of my rhinestones with the Gemstone Glue. I then chose some brown trim for the card flaps and adhered those with Helmar Premium Craft Glue. Next, I focused on the inside of the card. I cut the Eiffel Tower and phrase out using the Cricut 'Summer In Paris' cartridge. This was a recent gift from the hubby. I have not had the opportunity to work with it much, but I am loving it so far. I used 'Fruit Punch' Stickles on the Eiffel Tower cut. Here is the front of my project:
Here is a picture to show dimension of the gems. When I used the Helmar Gemstone Glue, I added a teeny tiny dot to the back of my gem and pressed it down slightly. You do not want to apply too much pressure or the glue will run out on the outer edge of the gemstones.
Inside of card....I used the Helmar Quick-Fix Adhesive Runner to adhere the Eiffel Tower cut and also on the back of my card.
I hope you have enjoyed this project. I will be posting the link to the svg download on my blog, A Scraphappy Southernbelle. So if you would like that, do feel free to stop by. I'd love to see ya!
Yall have a fabulous day and Happy Scrappin'!
