I love summer and I wish it was endless! My niece and her friends spend as much time as they can at the beach, and are always good sports about participating in a photoshoot no matter how many people are around.
I had fun with this layout, experimenting with different Helmar products to create my beach scene.
I created the umbrella by cutting the shapes from fabric scraps, doing a little machine stitching to define the shapes, and then dipping my fabric pieces into Helmar Fabric Stiffener & Draping Liquid. I cannot tell you how much I love "sculpting" fabric with this product....so many creative possibilities! I shaped my umbrella and placed it onto a paper plate covered in plastic wrap to dry. I adhered my finished umbrella to my layout using Helmar 450 Quick Dry - - the go-to glue for all things crafty!
My wave and beach effects were achieved using Helmar Gemstone Glue, cardstock, white acrylic paint and Pixie Stix Glitter from Pink Paislee (my "sun" was created using patterned paper also by Pink Paislee - - one of our fabulous Preferred Partners!)
I applied the Gemstone Glue using a foam brush which allowed me to quickly apply it to a large area before sprinkling on my glitter.
As always, all of my "paper to paper" gluing is done with Helmar Professional Acid Free Glue - - I am obsessed with this glue. Absolutely love the "feel" of my finished projects using this glue - give it a try and you will know EXACTLY what I mean!
