Fall is in the air

Fall is in the air here in the Chicagoland area. The leaves are falling and a chill is in the air. I'll miss you my summer.

Hi Everyone, it's me Cathy and I'm here to show you another way I used my Helmar V2 Vellum Adhesive spray. Here is a card I created. Using Pinkpaislee's Queen Bee paper line which I think is so perfectly suited for fall and a leaf shaped piece of chip board.

My steps to getting the look on the leaf was pretty simply. I first painted my leaf with some acrylic white paint. I dried it with the heat gun. I then sprayed it with my Helmar V2 Vellum Adhesive spray and sprinkled it with some white glitter. After that I spray it with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in the tattered leather shade and then heated it with the heating gun again. After all of that was done I took a hard surfaced nail file and ran it over the leaf and this is how it turned out.

Spooky Banner

I absolutely LOVE Halloween decorating! Now, what could be more perfect than creating a Halloween project using Helmar Adhesives, The Robin's Nest Dew Drops, Maya Road ribbon and Nikki Sivils paper and chipboard album??? NOTHING ;) Here is my SpoOoOoOoky banner that I made for Family Friday at Crazy About Cricut:

 

For projects like this, I love using the 450 Quick Dry because I want my glue to dry fast so I can still handle my project and adhere other items to it instead of waiting for the adhesive to dry! So, all of the paper and embellishments were adhered with the 450. All the letters are popped up with 1/2" White Zapdots.

Now let me tell you my favorite part of the banner.... the fact that I used V2 Vellum Adhesive to candy coat part of the letters!!! I've explained how to candy coat a few times before, but this time I put a bit of a twist on it. I am all about multipurpose, multitasking, killing 2 birds with one stone... Well, my Cricut mat needed to be sprayed... plus I needed to spray my shadow part of my letters. So, I sprayed the letters on the mat:

 
Then I add the letters to the shadow:

 
Then, I added glitter to these and the glitter only stuck to the orange part of the letter! I did another set of letters using Nikki Sivils paper for the shadow as well that I used on the actual project. These were a bit too small.

It's Raining Glitter!

I know I know...it's not even Halloween yet and I'm already talking about Christmas.  That's right, I am sharing a Christmas layout with you today. I just LOVE Christmas time. In fact I am ready to already start listening to Christmas music. :) But I am forcing myself to wait until after Halloween. :(

Here's my layout today:

Those chipboard snowflakes were part of a mini book that I took apart and used on my page instead. I added red glitter to them and then even a bit of stitching. I added the glitter by first spraying Helmar V2 Vellum Adhesive on my chipboard pieces and then covering with glitter. :) The rest of my layout was adhered with Helmar's 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.

Thanks for putting up with my *very early* Christmas spirit.

Kitchen Door Hanger & Refrigerator Magnet Gift Set

Happy Tuesday Everyone! I hope you are having a marvelous day! Aymee Gandy here on this beautiful day to share a project I have created showcasing just a few of my FAVORITE Helmar Adhesives!!! Just call me 'Bond', James 'Bond.' LOL! I'm a huge fan of the James Bond movies and that is all I kept thinking when I was sitting at my scrapbooking table working with all of these fabulous adhesives! I think I even started humming the theme song at one point. For this project, I used:

Helmar Zap Dots, Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots, Helmar Premium Craft Glue, Helmar Gemstone Glue, and Helmar Antique Acrylic Sealer

  
I have created a coordinating Christmas themed doorknob hanger and refrigerator magnet as a gift for my Mom. She decorates her kitchen in gingerbread for the holiday season and I thought she would enjoy these 2 pieces. She has a door leading from her kitchen to her laundry room and I have always thought it needed a little bit of decoration on it. So once I had completed the door hanger, I decided to make a refrigerator magnet to match. Here is what I came up with:

 
After cutting all of my pieces out using an electronic die cutting machine, I decided to jazz them up a bit. I decided to start with the pockets and 'bake' sentiment that go on the apron. I pulled out my Helmar Antique Acrylic Sealer for this. I brushed this on with a basic foam brush. I love the look it gave to my pockets. They almost look like epoxy stickers now. It really gave them a nice sheen. And it dried super quick!

 
Next, I knew I had to add some frills to the piece. My Mom and I both are super girly. We love adding ribbon and laces to all of our scrappy projects. So of course, I always turn to my trusty Helmar Adhesives for this. I pulled out my Helmar Premium Craft Glue to adhere a few strips of basic cream colored lace. I love this adhesive because I know I can count on it to provide a strong, quick drying hold! I also adhered some cream colored ric rac ribbon on the pockets of the apron using the Helmar Premium Craft Glue.

 

Next, I added some dew drops from The Robin's Nest to my apron. I adhered these with Helmar Gemstone Glue.

Now, once I finished the bigger apron, I created a smaller one for a magnet. I adhered a magnet to the back of this smaller apron using Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots. 
 

I love love love dimension on any project! For this, I always turn to Helmar Zap Dots. They provide a great 'pop'!!!
 

I hope my Mom will enjoy these pieces in her home! I think she will! Also, I hope that I have inspired you today! Pull out those Helmar Adhesives and come up with a project of your own!

There's a lady who's sure

That one word, I'm sure it's Helmar. I mean have you seen how amazing Liquid Scrap Dots is? Have you used it on your projects to see what kind of killer dimension you really get? This stuff is the bomb!!!!

Today I've got a project to share with you where you can really see how effective Heaven in a Tube is for giving unimaginable dimension to your projects. This Canvas is filled with Graphic 45 and Helmar goodness. I'm a fussy cutter, so this Steampunk Debutante line really lets me snip, snip, snip...

 

Now to see what kind of dimension Liquid Scrap Dots gives, I've taken a close-up of all those scrumptious layers. Are ya ready? Hold onto your creative hats ladies and gents, because this is gonna blow your mind!!!!

 

Holy Doodles batman. I count 6 layers. Can you? And all possible by using Liquid Scrap Dots. Yup I love Heaven in a Tube. It really doesn't get any better when it comes to dimension. Besides who really wants to be 1 dimensional? With Liquid Scrap Dots, you and your projects can really have layers.

Confessions of Glue Geek

When I first started scrapping, I never thought twice about the glues I used.  Glue sticks, pens, etc - - whatever was on sale or cheap.

It wasn’t until I was flipping through layouts of my wedding (a scant 5 years ago! - and I am STILL not done scrapping it!) that I discovered how important your adhesive is….I discovered that one of my favorite wedding layouts, a beautiful picture from my bachelorette celebration (dinner and an all night crop with my fave girls at a hotel!) had been ruined because I used an adhesive that claimed to “dry clear” on acrylic letters in my title.  Well, it dried clear that night, but shortly after drying clouded up the acrylic so badly, you can barely see the letters. UGH!!  Unfortunately, this was not the only glue "mishap" I have experienced since I started scrapbooking!  Embellishments and photos falling off pages used to be a common occurrence.

LESSON LEARNED!!

A corner of my scrap table now looks like this:

 

I am ready for any glue situation, and since I use so many different mediums in my crafting, having the right adhesive is a #1 priority for me. I go from paper, to fabric and even metal - I have had too many layouts fall apart or become ruined from using the wrong adhesive - - I will now forever be a Helmar girl!

Here are 2 recent layouts of mine, using a lot of different textures, I am now confident that these layouts will be around INTACT for years to come, thanks to Helmar!

I used a bit of everything Helmar on this page - most notably, the Gemstone Glue for the chest "feathers" on my owl - these are Dew Drops from the Robins Nest - - a recent obsession of mine!

Happy Happy Joy Joy!!

Hello my crafty friends!! First off, CONGRATS to the new Helmar Team!!! Some amazing educators and Aussie team members! I am so excited to get to know you all and see your amazing Helmar creations!!

Secondly, I have posted the winners for my blog hop RAK on my blog! It could be you... go check it out! :)

And last but not least... I have a project to share with you today!! In creating this project, I used the following Helmar products... Premium Craft glue, Liquid Scrap Dots, 450 Quick Dry, Quick Fix Adhesive Runner!

I absolutely love our preferred partners! They are so kind and generous to us! Thank you! Today I am showing you a project using one of my all time favorite lines from one of my all time favorite manufacturers!! Pink Paislee's Queen Bee line! Swoon!! Check it out!

This picture is of my 4th child... he WAS the baby up until 5 months ago... he's having some issues with me now... it breaks my heart! :(

I love this line by Pink Paislee! The colors are gorgeous! The patterns are so easy to work with! And SO many things to fussy cut! Gorgeous!

In creating this page, I began with the brown paper, and using a border punch, punched it out 3 times and layered them. Love the dimension it gave the page!

More dimension was created by layering lots of patterned papers! I LOVE layering papers! :) (As you may have noticed on my blog hop layout! ;) ) All of my papers are held down using the Premium Craft Glue. My pages sometimes do get heave with all of that paper. But I NEVER have to worry about them falling apart or pealing back when i use this adhesive! I could not imagine scrapping without it!

Then comes my favorite... all the fussy cutting! I LOVE using Liquid Scrap dots for this! This helps me to be able to use different dimension for each piece... it adds lift and depth to the page. I even used it on the wire accents! Can you see the liquid scrap dots? Nope! Didn't think so! :) They dry perfectly clear!

I added the trim and the accents using 450 quickdry. Quick fix adhesive runner holds on my journaling strips. I also used it for adding the "picket fence" strips of paper. I was afraid the liquid glues might seep thru the holes... so this worked perfectly! Thanks so much for stopping by!
