Hi everyone. Alicia here from the new Helmar Australia Design Team, and I am really excited to be sharing my first blog post with you all.
Today I want to show you a cute little idea for creating texture using Helmar acid free glue. Now I have to admit, I did not invent this technique, it's a great little tip I picked up from a fellow scrapper, and played with it in my own way.
This technique can be applied to any piece of chipboard. On this layout, I have used a ready made title.
Begin by applying a decent covering of acid free glue to the entire surface of your chipboard. No need to be neat at all. Now, work quickly, while it is nice and wet, apply small pieces of tissue randomly. The tissue can be folded, crush, crimpled, anything. The more you play with it, the more texture you will create. Now apply a second coat of acid free glue to seal it all in. make it nice and lumpy. Now you'll need to set it aside to dry.
Once it is dry, cover the entire piece with paint to match your layout. I used metallic paint for some extra sparkle. Be sure it is all completely dry before adherering to your page. I use Helmar Spray Adhesive for titles to get a good even coverage without any lumpy bits.
Try this same technique with other materials, such as sand, for another unusual effect.
Cheers
