...Yay... Happy New Year Helmar fans!
I hope you are all well and ready to Rock the New year with some Helmar adhesives. Today I have a little ripper of a project idea. You will LOVE it!
Ok so this is what you will need - HELMARS FABRIC STIFFENER AND DRAPING LIQUID, HELMARS 450 QUICK DRY AND LAST SOME SCRAP DOTS IN THE WICKED TUBE!
EXTRAS: CUTTLEBUG AND ALPHAS DIES, SCRAPS OF FABRIC, BOWL AND SOME H2O.
So here's what I made some funky cool fabric alphas, and you can too! It's really easy peasy so go grab your supplies and get busy.
STEP1: Squeeze of heap of helmars fabric stiffener into a bowl and add a little bit of water. Mix together it will look very cloudy - perfect. But not to much water as we don't want to dilute the strength down to much. Now just soak all your scraps of fabric for a few minutes. Now give them a good squeeze and lay them on some baking paper to dry.
With the excess store in a jar or experiment with some other types of fabrics.
STEP 2: Cut strips to fit your alphas dies.
STEP 3: Make you sandwich up like you would if you were using card stock.
STEP 4: Now just run it through the cuttlebug a few times.
....now just check that out... told you it was easy peasy!
STEP 5: Have some fun and scrap it!
...I added extra detail by using as black gel pen and outlined each letter with little dashes. I used helmars 450 quick dry to adhere each of the letters. And only used a small dot on the back so that they were not completely flat.
...and here you go the layout featuring those funky cool fabric letters and my gorgeous but cheeky daughter JORJA!
...I also used helmars scrap dots to add the a little bit of dimension to a couple of my embellishments.
A TIP - or Hand cut your own alphas or shapes from the stiffener fabic
