I am so lucky to work on two amazing design teams, and this week is a dream with Helmar and Best Creation combining for some crafty goodness. It's been great to see my fellow designers exploring with each other's products.
Today is my day for a little share. I have been working with the brand new June release from Best Creation called Rock Star. I have two budding little Rock (band) stars in my house and was lucky enough to catch a few shots of them rocking out on the guitars. I love the colours in this, and the fact that I can get away with using swirls on boy layouts. There is just the right amount of glitter to catch the eye, without crossing to the tacky side.
I created two layouts with this collection, one for each child. You can see one here, but for the other, head over to the Best Creation blog. Here's a little sneak peek to get your attention though.
You've probably noticed by now that all Best Creation papers are embossed with glitter, but the best part is that the glitter DOES NOT flake off. I am a big fan of glitter, but having it all over my house drives me crazy, so this company and I get along just fine. Also, there are always plenty of fun little things for to cut out. Happy day!
So, on with the layout. I used a little glimmer mist to grunge up the background, then focused on the papers in the range with blues, and layered them up. One thing I have found with the glittered papers, is that they are more heavy weight than most papers, and the glossy glitter means that a top quality adhesive like Helmar Quick fix tape runner is absolutely essential and the perfect match.
Being a boy page, does not deter my deisre for dimensional pages, so I used Helmar Zapdots for the guitar and the stars. Finally, Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots was the only logical choice to adhere the handcut swirl.
I hope you have enjoyed our week long adventures with Best Creation this week. If you don't have any of their papers...get some, you wont regret it.
Cheers
