Hi everyone~I started this weekend with so many ideas in my head for crafty projects~some worked some didn't so I'm showing you the ones that worked, the ones that didn't are for another time or maybe never *** {I knew you would understand}. Let's start~
I made a pin cushion out of a small picture frame ~ a very craft friendly project when you have Helmar 450 Quick Dry !!! After I painted the frame with Claudine Hellmuth's acrylic paint and it was dry I then used the Helmar crackle medium on the frame ~ loved how the project turned out!!
To finished the pin cushion, I cut a piece of antique fabric larger than the size of the opening of the frame, then glued it in loosly with Helmar 450 quick dry. Then stuff the cushion part and add cardboard, the size of the frame, to the back. The last thing, antique the frame with a wash of brown acrylic paint and then wipe it off leaving the antique {Helmar crackle medium} finish. The spoon is an old silver spoon {that was black} I shined it up and sewed it to the pin cushion making a nice place for extra buttons to land.
Continueing forward on my crafty weekend~I took some vintage tart pans and made these cuties.
Cut a piece of fabric about 1" wider than your tart pan. Run a stitch all the way around and cinch it up until it fits inside the tart pan. Place Helmar 450 quick dry on one side and hold it with a clip, when it is dry do the other side and then one of the ends~leaving one open ~ so you can stuff the tart tin.
Super cute!!! I used the Helmar 450 quick dry to glue on vintage trims and buttons.
and my last project for the weekend, these magnets using vintage dominoes! I put alcohol inks { by Ranger} on the dominoes and stamped with Stazon ink. Used the Helmar 450 quick dry to adhere felt, trim and a magnet to the back of the domino. Have a great day and I'll see ya when I get back from vacation!! by ~ Connie Mercer /DT
