I feel like I have been so many girl layouts lately with lots of pretty flowers, and my poor boys have been missing out, and they are such beautiful boys, that I really need to pay them some more "scraptention". Problem is that I can find it tricky to create boy pages with high visual appeal without using flowers. Today I figure I would go back to basics and keep it simple. I have used big blocks of paper and some chipboard and let the photos be the hero of the page.
Of course, none of that even matters unless I have a strong adhesive to bind it all together. Today I have chosen to use Helmar Professional Acid Free glue. I've been using this more often lately I usually prefer Helmar 450 Quick Dry adhesive, but when I am using glue alot, I find that the Helmar Professional Acid Free glue is easier to use as it doesn't dry as fast, and therefore doesn't seal up the nozzle so quickly, so I can scrap a bit faster, rather than spend time cleaning. It does take longer to dry though, so I find I have to take that into consideration, but on my layout today, I didn't have a lot of flowers to hold together so I could take my time a little more.
The Helmar Professional acid free glue was a good all rounder for this page. I did use the Helmar quick fix tape runner, but I could have used the Professional. I used it for the twine, the chipboard vines, the title and the flowers. I especially like how it dries clear, so for the inevitable bits that come out the sides of the delicate chipboard, it didn't really matter too much.
Cheers
