OK, so you have probably gotten used to me LOVING my crackle and giving it a bit of a vintage effect. This time however, I have included it on a layout. It is amazing how you can make something new look so old with a bit of crackle and ink.
I really wanted to use the music from the first dance at our wedding, and seeing I purchased the sheet music some time ago on-line, I was able to simply print out another copy from the saved file.I then set about giving it a vintage feel.
To create this layout I started with a beautiful chipboard doily frame by Scrapware. This piece is just divine. I covered it with pieces of the music paper using my Helmar Acid free glue. Once it was properly dry I sanded all the edges prior to inking it with Tim Holtz 'Old Paper' and 'Brushed Corduroy'distress inks. This gave the paper a beautiful aged look. I then applied my Step 1 and 2 Helmar Crackle to give it a beautiful vintage effect. I used some Tim Holtz 'Walnut Stain' distress ink to bring out the cracks as well.
I then put the layout together usine my Helmar Premium craft glue to adhere the frame and photo to the layout. I then used my Helmar 450 Quick Dry to adhere some beautiful Prima vines and flowers to dress up the page. Using my Helmar Liquid Scrap dots I added a butterfly I stole off a Prima flutter vine in my stash with to give it a great deal of height.
To finish it off I added a beautiful pearl lace flourish (once again by Prima) that I cut up into a few pieces.
Well I hope you like my share today and are just a little more inspired to go away and give some crackling a go.
Happy Creating
