I was really honored when I was asked to be a guest designer for Helmar for the month of September.
Here is one of the projects that I had fun making.
I loved making this whimsical wall hanging for our kitchen and it was so easy using all the fantastic adhesives that Helmar has available.
After painting the chipboard with a lovely coat of Agua Cool Pearl & Gecko from Delta Ceramcoat I wanted a nice aged and crackle look to my finish. I didn't have a Crackle Medium handy(Helmar does carry Crackle Medium), so I did the next best thing... I poured a bit of 450 Quick Dry Adhesive into a container and mixed it with a drop of acrylic paint and a tad of water. I brushed this over my project and then used a heat gun and PRESTO- in a about a minute you will get a crackle effect. Premium Craft Glue works too but the cracks won't be as dramatic.
I then used ZAPDOTS to adheres my wonderful whimsical butterflies from BoBunny on. I glammed them up with some Tattered Angels.
And after doing some fun doodling with my ZIG Writers from Kuretake I sealed the whole project with a acrylic medium. So easy and fun! I had a blast getting all gluey with Helmar!
Keep on crafting,
Susan
