Layering on a layout does not need to be a complicated process. Helmar Quick-Fix Permanent Adhesive Runner and the 6'x6" paper pads that so many companies now offer, make it an easy task.
This little gadget (Helmar Quick-Fix Permamnet Adhesive Runner) makes paper layering ever so simple. There is no need to worry about glue leaking or paper buckling and wrinkling. You simply swipe it on the back of the paper, and place it on your layout. No mess, no fuss.
For this month's Helmar Out Of The Box Sketch Challenge, I wanted to create a unique background, but not detract from the design of Lydell's sketch. I realised what I needed was layers, but without the dimension. And by adding depth and diemsion to the photo instead, this enambled me to keep the focus on the photo, rather than the background.
To create this unique layered background, I simply worked out which 6"x6" papers I wanted (in this case I used Pink Paislee), doodled around the edges with a white gel pen, added the Helmar Quick-Fix Permanent Adhesive Runner to the back of the paper, and placed the sheets of paper in the desired locations. It was that easy!!! And it looks so effective, without all the hard work and mess.
And here's another tip for Helmar fans (or should I say addicts?). Instead of sticking your stickers flat onto a layout, either coat the back of them with a layer of baby powder, or add to a transparency and cut out, before applying Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to the back of the sticker. This makes the sticker easier to work with, and as a bonus, adds more dimension to your layout. I love that I could make the owl sticker more of a focal point by adding Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to create some depth. He's a little cutie!!!
Thank-you for joining me today. I hope you all have a wonderful Happy Halloween weekend, and I wish you lots of Trick or Treating fun on All Hallow's Eve.
