Dress Form.. happiness

Hello and Welcome Friday.. Angie Blom here with my very first post for Helmar!! I am so very excited.. I hope you are too. Today I am going to show you a little project that I have been meaning to finish off, but was stuck until Helmar came into my life. Yes, it was love at first sight. haha

I have been watching My Craft Channel every since it first aired and this was the first project posted by DIY DISH.. first let me tell you ...when you mention a dress form to me, I get really excited.. but how to make one.. well that was right up my alley. I just had to.. but... now came my problem. I didn't want to use a hot glue on my candle holder stand to hold this up.. As most of you know when you use a hot glue gun on metal sometimes.. okay most times it just ends up coming off.. the hold is not very strong at all.

So in comes this box of goodies.. Helmar goodies..And then, there is this wonderful product..

450 Quick Dry Adhesive.. yes, I love ..love ..love this .. can you see the hearts in my eyes!!

Can I tell you how AMAZING this product is..

I applied glue on the base and the bottom of my dress form, pressed it all together and presto it all held together in a matter of seconds..

AMAZING!! BRILLIANT!! I was also amazed that I could pick up the dress form by the body and shake it.. this was totally stuck on!! I am one happy girl!!

Now it just came time to decorate her... I got all the flowers and buttons I wanted to use, and seeing that the 450 Quick Dry worked on the metal, well it would definately work on these flowers no problem. So I glued away with a breeze. It is all holding and nothing is going to take those off.

I must say I am so happy to be promoting something as wonderful as Helmar, What an Outstanding produc,t that you will all love and a must for every craft room.. this will also be one amazing stocking stuffer for even your handy husbands.. it is that amazing!! Everyone should have these products.

My Dress Form is very very happy and holding my pins.. all decorated and held together with love.

You know you are on a good thing when you get to play with what you love & one of my huge favorites would have to be Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots, its clear and creates the most amazing 3D effects.

Team it up with Helmar Acid Free- Neutral pH glue and your well on the way to some awesome creations!

This is what I came up with with some of my fav's - I started out with a Out There Chippy Shadow Box, adhered it all together with Helmar Acid Free- Neutral pH glue covered it with some gorgeous Pion Design - Studio of Memories Papers using Helmar Acid Free- Neutral pH glue.

 added some German Scrap paper lace trims around the edges of the shadow box.

Fussy cut some flowers, a butterfly then applied Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to each flower, leaf & under each wing of the butterfly - gives that awesome 3D effect           LOVE IT !!

FabScraps is fab!!!!!!

I had a great time crafting with FabScraps and Helmar~they make a great pair!!! I was really drawn to the FabScraps products.  They are different and unique and I like that.  I did a layout showcasing some of the fabulous products from FabScraps and Helmar~so here we go~

I painted the chipboard piece by FabScraps with Jenni Bowlin acylic paint , inked the edges with Quick Quotes and then adhered to the layout with Helmar 450 Quick Dry.  The flower border  by FabScraps was cut apart to make flowers.  I hand sewed buttons in the center.  Other partnering Companys that were used are Elle's Studio and Buttons galore and more!! Reminder~sketch of the month and Helmar's blog hop coming Dec 3rd & 4th.  Have a wonderful Thankgiving everyone and remember ~count your many blessing name them one by one~  by: C. With a little help from my HELMAR!

Hi HELMAR fans...I'm Martha Richardson and it's my 1st post as a Helmar Design Team member. I'm super excited because I love me some HELMAR...since discovering it after a recommendation from "THE" Erika Taylor I haven't looked back!! Creating projects with a good adhesive is so important...but I found the BEST adhesive and what a difference it makes.Over the next 6 months I hope to share several altered projects that you will find easy to create. Here are a few of my MUST HAVES that you will find in my toolbox and the products used on this project:

    

My project this month is using the wooden shadowbox from Pink Paislee, created as  a gift for Christmas. I did not embellish the inside, leaving that to the gift recipient. I utilized the following HELMAR products to complete this project, Decoupage & Craft Paste, 450 Quick Dry Adhesive and Liquid Scrap Dots.

I started this project by covering the frame with several colors from the Fall Collection of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, a flourish screen and to define the opening I stamped with  Archival Jet Black ink to insure the next layers of color would not bleed through. The inside of the shadowbox was covered with random sheet music and pages from a book using Helmar Decoupage & Craft Paste. I do a lot of mixed media canvas and let me tell you I LOVE this stuff! I used the Harlequin stencil from The Crafters Workshop and gesso to lay down a layer for texture. When dry I misted with Tattered Angels Nougat Glimmer Mist allowing it to drip giving it a look of being old. I attached the wooden cut-out embellishments from Kaisercraft with the 450 Quick Dry Adhesive and the Dragonfly brass embellishment from Out There Chippy with Liquid Scrap Dots.

Look how smooth the paper is with using the Decoupage & Craft Paste, that doesn't always happen with other types of the medium. The great thing is you are also able to apply other mediums over it without any problems what so ever!

I also want to share with you what I like to call a "STASHBUSTER" project. No more than 10-15 minutes to complete and helps to make a dent in that stash of yours. Utillizing a plain, clearance pumpkin from Big Lots, some 450 Quick Dry Adhesive and Liquid Scrap Dots and left-over Prima flowers and leaves I turn dull and boring into...a nice addition to a Thanksgiving centerpiece.

Before it was just a pumpkin with a just a lonely stem but now with the help of HELMAR we have a pumpkin that all glammed up!

Simple Boys Layout

Have you ever wanted to keep it simple, well this is my attempt at using a pack that I had and that is all!!  No adding on, which for me was very hard.  I overthink, everything.  But not this time!!!

This page is based around a photo of my boy Jackson. He has this laugh that is amazing and totally cheeky, but very infectious. Because it was such a great photo I wanted to keep my layout nice and simple as to not take away from the picture.

I have used Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to give some dimension to the transparency cogs on this page.   I have distressed the edge on the Navy Cardstock.  I like to map out my page and if I put something in the right hand corner I will do it again in the left hand opposite corner.  Just to keep my page balanced.

The Silver Cogs are a die cut paper, so easy and so effective.  I have glued them down with Helmar Acid Free Glue.  I used this same glue on eveything else on the page. 

I finished off the page with some eyelets to add some metal and a metallic pen to box the page in with a frame.  Here are some close-ups:

It is was fun to try and just use two colors on a page.  Blue and Silver.

Once I lay everything on the page, the glueing is the fun bit.

Happy Holidays From Helmar to Our Military Families

Having family overseas during the holidays is always hard. It is always hardest for those children whose parents are away serving our country. With new technology, our service men and women now can see and hear their loved ones voices on holidays. But, it is the packages that they receive overseas that give them a little piece of home.

We have two family members about to fly overseas to war. Unfortunately they are leaving right at the holidays and we have to get their packages to them now so they can take their presents with them for Christmas.

I think the package says everything about the giver and receiver. I love to make my packages beautiful. Sometimes too beautiful that at Christmas parties people are fighting over the package; pieces are flying off of it, and I am shaking my head at why I even spent all that time. HA! Maybe you have been there? Anyway, for service men and women, they appreciate the time you took to make them feel special.

Why not let Helmar Scrap Dots help you add that special touch to your gift? It was an easy way to add dimension to these gifts. All the embellishments would have just laid flat on the wrapping paper, but with Scrap Dots, the liquid adhesive is applied to help each element get that lift it needs to stand on top of the previous layer. Don't forget those that you may know serving overseas or on the home front. Make sure to take time this season to help them in anyway including asking if they know of any service men or women who may not have any family. We can all help send them a little something of home this season.

Got chipboard letters?  I bet the answer is yes.  If you are like me, the answer is HECK YES!  I don't know if it is the fact that I am a first grade teacher, but I LOVE letters.  My stash of letters could last me through the apocalypse.  Seriously. :)

I have always used chipboard letters on layouts, dating all the way back to the summer of '69...just kidding, I wasn't born until 1972. :)  But I think you get my point.  Before I discovered HELMAR, it would drive me crazy to look at old layouts that were displayed in albums...because inevitably I would find random chipboard letters laying in the bottom of my page protectors.  MAN ALIVE!!  It drove me nuts! (and by the way, "man alive"...what exactly is THAT all about?!  cracks me up!)

So now you ask, "How ever did you get those chipboard letters to stick?!?"  Well, I will show you my secret.  It is this bit of magic right here:

And yes, I do consistently use both.  It is a quirk, I know.  However I  just can't decide which one I like better.

Helmar ZapDots Pixel Card Tutorial by: True :)

Hi Everyone!

Today, I played along with the girls in Split Coast Stampers F4A91 "Pixellated" challenge. We were asked to use multiple squares on our card to create the look of pixels. While everyone else was using paper or paint,  I knew exactly what I wanted to use for my squares....Helmar ZapDots! :)

I thought I would show you really quick how simple my card was to make. I think I might have created a new technique. :) I haven't seen it anywhere at least. 

I used small black Helmar ZapDots and some Ranger Ink's Perfect Pearls Pigment Powders.

I simply removed the paper backing from one row of the ZapDots then with a soft paint brush, just rubbed my first color into the sticky.

Then I did the same with a couple more rows and my second color of Perfect Pearls.

I cut a 3" card base and a 2 1/2" square out of Black cardstock from Discount Card Stock.

I stamped a fun Studio g sentiment with Ranger Ink's Snow Cap then added some white embossing powder and heat set it.

I then used some craft tweezers to place the "pixels" on the square around the sentiment.

I then cut a square of Brilliant White cardstock just a tad bigger then my black square and attached it with Helmar's 450 Quick Dry Adhesive. I added some Turquoise and Black Cord from Really Reasonable Ribbon, then attached it to my card base with more black Helmar ZapDots.

It was super fun using my Helmar ZapDots for decoration instead of hiding them under layers of paper!
