I am sharing another Christmas gift Idea I made this week for my Father-in-Law to hang on his kitchen wall. It turned out really cute and I just wish we had more dedicated Tea drinkers in our family!!!!!
Here is the finished project. I used all older papers from my stash....(Love when I can swing this!!!) I was sure an 80 year old would not mind out or date product!!!!
(Please note, this is not an original idea, I first saw it on Pinterest HERE, and its just as cute.......it is also similar to a version of this peg wreath by Helmar DT member Carisa HERE)
So here is what I did using some very sticky and reliable Helmar Glue!
Helmar 450 Supertac is the star of the show in this project. It is perfect for all things paper and cardstock and glues chipboard with ease.
I cut out 3 record shapes from Chipboard using a compass (this is as close to anything mathematical as I get!!!!) and I glued each piece together to form a secure base.
I cut out another of the exact same shape from a sheet of patterned paper and set it aside for the back
I layed the circle on a sheet of patterned paper and cut roughly an inch around it......some sides were closer to the edge than others due to the size of my circle, but I just made do. I cut little tabs all the way around to make the paper fold neatly around the circle shape without warping.
Add the Helmar 450, which will not wet and warp your paper and work around the circle folding around creating a neat edge as you go.
Do the same to the inside circle
Now glue on the back piece to cover these folded strips, creating a lovely neat finish on the reverse side.
I got 30 pegs or so and layed them facing outwards- lining them up wih the inside of the centre circle for spacing. I removed a couple as I was gluing to create an even circle of pegs. Helmar 450 Quickdry worked perfectly for this task too, gluing the wood to the paper.
I cut strips the width of the pegs to glue to the pegs to make them pretty and glued them on also.
The centre looked a bit bare by this stage, so I used the centre bits I removed from the chipboard and cut them down into smaller circles and covered them front and back with matching paper and added a label and strung it to the back side.
I added the command velcro strips to allow Dad to easily apply it to his wall and filled it with a few exotic tea's. He now has a display of what tea he has to try and can replenish at will!
