Hair Pretties made easy with Helmar 450 Quick Dry!

Hi Helmar Fans!

I was recently asked to guest design using some goregous ribbon and I stepped out of my comfort zone to create some hair clips for my girls. I wanted to share how I incredibly easy they are to make using Helmar 450 Quick Dry! 

First, pick some ribbon the same widge of your clip.

Then I start by placing a dollop of glue at the top where you squeeze the clip open.

Pinch some of the ribbon over and around for a few seconds. Helmar 450 Quick Dry lives up to its name and dries pretty fast. 

Then I run some more Helmar 450 Quick Dry along the prongs and wrap the ribbon around the top of the clip. 

Now, you can keep it like that - it looks pretty as is, or you can embellish a little like I did. I just added a little dollop of glue at the top.

And placed a shabby fabric flower with a brad in the middle. 

Super simple and pretty hair clips ready to wear!

Helmar 450 Quick Dry and Floral Stems

Hello everyone,

I hope your weekend it going well. I have so much to do I apologize for there being a week in between posts.

Here is an Large Robins nest project I created for a window display. It is made from Ostrich Eggs and the nest is put together with Helmar 450 Quick Dry.

I just love this stuff. I used moss, feathers and floral stems to glue down onto a plate shaped basket from the $1 store.

I can see this as a great center piece!

Love Those ZapDots!

Hi Everyone!

I just popped in to share a little card I created with Helmar's 450 Quick Dry and Zap Dots.

I stamped the image onto acitate, then filled it in with colored glitter and went over that with gesso.

Then, I cut a frame from some glittered chipboard and attached it to the acetate piece with Helmar's 450 Quick Dry Adhesive. I used Helmar ZapDots to lift it up from the card front. 

You can see the shadows of the butterflies in the photo above where the ZapDots have them lifted above the card front.

Hop Skip and Jump!

My little man is quite active. Is yours? He barely stops for me to get a photo of him. So, why not carry the camera with me and get some photos of him in action?

In this layout I used Bella Blvd. to document what we love about our neighborhood.I used this photo of my son hopping across the crosswalk. It captures so much of what he is at this age, even though the photo is from behind. That's where I am usually. Running to catch up!

To layer these embellishments, I used Helmar's Premium Craft Glue, Zap Dots, and Scrap Dots.

If you have young ones, make sure to capture them in action. The photos that I capture my son in his "element" are even better than the ones I where I try to get him to sit still.

Today is St Patrick's Day and I wanted to create a little card full of Irish Wishes and blessings for all the Helmar fans out there. Hello everyone, Erika Taylor here today to share with you a card I created using Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesives, Helmar Gemstone Glue and papers/dewdrops from one of our preferred partners The Robin's Nest.

Beach Bum Album

Spring break is here for many and here in Florida, that means a trip to the beach.  For many others around the states, that means a trip to the Florida beaches!  Where are you spending Spring Break?

I discovered the perfect paper for this album at CHA this Winter.  The paper is the Surf and Swim collection from a new company called Trinity.  They have some gorgeous papers and I love the weight of the paper as well.  The paper was perfect to distrezz with my Distrezz-It-All.  Of course, the addition of a little burlap from Canvas Corp and some Glimmer goodness from Tattered Angels added to the shabby beach flavor throughout the album.  I used many Helmar products to put the entire album together.  I used Zutter 8x8 chipboard for my front and back cover and bound the whole album using my Bind-it-All.    The paper was glued to the covers with Helmar Acid Free glue.  This is the best glue for covering albums with paper as my paper never warps or wrinkles with this glue.  I have the big bottle because I use this so much.  

The burlap and alpha on the burlap are glued down using Helmar 450 Quick Dry adhesive and the shells were all cut out and glued using Helmar Scrap Dots for dimension. 

It only gets better as I turn the pages.

 

I have to admit I had some great friends, Jackie and Susan, come over Saturday and we scrapped together and all had touches on this album.  Jackie and Susan helped do a lot of fussy cutting.  Isn’t this wagon adorable with the windows cut out?  

Some flowers were cut out and rolled and glued with Helmar Zap Dots to create that stunning dimensional flower.   I used Helmar Gemstone glue to add the brown glass beads to the center.  The Helmar Gemstone glue was perfect because it dries clear.

Little 4 x6 page protector by Zutter.

I just want to jump into that water paper!  All the paper layers and flip flops were glued with Helmar Acid Free Glue again. 

More layers of distrezzed paper and paper elements that were cut from the paper line and glued down with Helmar Acid Free glue and a little bit of Helmar Scrap Dots. 

I love these little tiki heads.  I cut these out and popped them up with Helmar Scrap Dots.  

Added a little Core-dinations cardstock and did a little more fussy cutting.  Everything was glued down with Helmar Acid Free Glue except for the bottom flower.  This flower was adhered with one round Helmar ZapDot.  I only put one towards the bottom so that a picture could easily be slid in behind the flower and under the edge of the border flowers.

My daughter has plans to go to the beach, so I made this for her to add pictures to and give her something to look back on.  I can’t wait to see what pictures she will take with this album in mind.  I’m not even really a beach person, but this paper and album made me want to go to the beach.  Ok, I really just want to fill the margarita glass that I used as a prop in the background, but I can drink that on the beach, right?

Once again, I love all my Helmar products.  I love that I have a variety of adhesives that I can use for different purposes and to achieve different effects all in one project.   Do you find yourself reaching for more than one adhesive now to finish one project?

So celebrate with me today since it’s my birthday and take some time to enjoy the warmer season and join me for a margarita or just sit and soak in a little sunshine.

Hard back book meets Liquid Scrap Dots

Hello Helmar readers,

Today I am going to write about outside inspiration. This post though it has a project made from Helmar is not my personal original idea. I found this idea on Pinterest, the link was a general link to a photo blog (not to an exact post) I spent hours trying to find this original artist because I found their work so intriguing. Alas... nothing was found and my life and family demanded me to return from cyberspace.

This book page rose is called "altered book art" it is a simple form of the art and if you ever want to see very extremely detailed pieces just Google the quote above and look at the images. With all this said this has been a very popular piece at in my window display I design for a local book store.

It was all created with a little distressing ink, one hard back book, Helmar 450 Quick Dry and Liquid Scrap Dots.

I took about ten pages out of the center of the book to make the rose petals from.  I tore the petals for the rose out and distressed them long with the edges of the rest of the pages in the book. I used Helmar 450 to wrap each petal around one another creating the heart of the rose I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry to adhere the rose to the center of the book. Adding a few more petals around this base and tearing a few more out of the pages around the rose.

Once the rose was done and the extra petals were distressed to match the rose, I took Helmar's Liquid Scrap Dots and "Fluffed" the rose and supported most of the petals with a drop of Helmar's Liquid Scrap Dots. Let it dry (with the book as open as it can be left unattended) over night. Put it on a simple easel and here you go. I have made a few since then with other types of floral and I will be posting them on my blog as soon as I get photos taken.

Helmar 450 and Authentique make a great folder~

Hi everyone!!! This is a very cool project, especially, if you have children or grand children that love to do art.  I have four grands that are always leaving me sweet art pictures on my desk.  I have been pinning them on the fridge but after awhile I had no room ~ so this is what I made ( one for each grand ) for their art.

I used the bi-fold papers from Authentique , love those!! I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry along the sides and then decorated.  I had a picture of each grand doing art, so those were the pictures I scrapbooked.

I even used the Authentique banner, I thought it looked so cool that way~after all this is award winning art!!!!

I used punches and scrap pieces of ribbons and trims to decorate the front of the folders.  The little labels are by Tim Holtz.

The metallic paper is by Vintage Street Market~thought it was perfect for the award emblem!! Thanks for stopping in and have a great day!!! See ya soon!

Altered fun with Helmar, Pink Paislee & Unity Stamp Co!

HI Helmar Fans!

Whenever I'm browsing I'm looking for clearance finds that would be fun to alter. I found such a thing awhile back when I came across this box that looks like a book! When looking for things to do with my kids on this past Leap Day, we decided to make a time capsule of sorts and put some things in it to "open" on the NEXT leap day in 4 years! I got the idea from THIS POST. So, I decided to alter that book box for all our keepsakes!

I love how it turned out - I used Helmar Acid Free glue to adhere all the paper to the box and Helmar 450 Quick Dry to adhere all the emebellishments. For the butterfly I wanted it to look as if it were about to fly off the page so I used Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to give dimension to the top of the wings. The paper I used is all from Pink Paislee and the stamps are Unity Stamp Co. 

I created this video so you can watch the entire process from start to finish!
