Hey Helmar fans! It’s Cindy stopping in to share a card with you. We’re having fun cross promoting again, this week with Robin’s Nest. I’ll be honest, I used to only think of Robin’s Nest when it came to those ever popular “Dew Drops.” Much to my surprise they have lots of fun paper crafting supplies – papers, chipboards, embellishments, ribbons, and so much more! I’ve made my card using Robin’s Nest pattern paper, drops and the gold fiber embellishment.
The paper is beautiful to see and to touch. Love it. This paper is Linen Fleur Blue that has Stripe Blue on the other side.
I started by cutting my card base and mat layers on my Cricut machine because I wanted to be sure the circles lined up and it was easier to adjust the sizes and placement in the Cricut Craft Room software online. You can certainly cut your mats using circle dies or circle cutters to cut your openings.
Once I had my pieces cut, I used Helmar Quick Fix Tape Runner in the center areas to hold them in place while I stitched them. I then attached the stitched pieces to my card base using Helmar Premium Craft Glue . Next is my rosette.
The rosette is made using a die cut by Provo Craft for the Cuttlebug machine. I cut two pieces, accordian folded and adhered them together with Helmar 450 Quick Dry
I really like my rosettes to be nicely rounded so I usually find a lid of the appropriate size, most often the ring from a canning jar, and create the rosette inside of it, gluing with Helmar 450 Quick Dry so I know it will hold. I form the rosette in the lid, put down a piece of paper, add my glue and a top piece of paper and then set the glue bottle on it for weight until dry.
The rosette is embellished with 3 small paper roses and a leaf branch punch, both inked very lightly with a matching chalk ink and adhered with Helmar 450 Quick Dry. Before adhering the completed rosette to the card, I placed some loops of the gold fiber, Shimmering Straw from Robin’s Nest and a couple more leaf punches. All with Helmar 450 Quick Dry.
For this particular card, I opted to place Dew Drops inside, through the circular opening. I chose a few white ones from a bottle of Fairy Dust Dew Drops. Easily done and secure using my Helmar Gemstone Glue . Gemstone Glue and Robin's Nest Dew Drops are a match made in heaven! I put a bit of glue on my craft mat and use tweezers to lightly dip the drop in the glue and then place on the card.
Below is the inside of the card. I’ll go back later when I want to use this card and place a piece of cardstock with a personal note on the left side, where it won’t show through the hole. I like to make many of my cards any occasion, without specific sentiments, so I’m not limited in their use. I often have a spot on the front that I can add a banner and sentiment sticker or stamp without difficulty.
If you are like me and thought Robin’s Nest was just Dew Drops, let me tell you, they are much more and great quality products! Do check them out and be sure to stop by the Robin's Nest Blog, Chattering Robins, and ours every day this week to see more Helmar products put to work with Robin’s Nest .
Positively brilliant!

Thanks, G. The card base is 5 x 7 with a 2" Circle. The next layer, the stripes, is 4 3/4 x 6 3/4 with a 2 1/4 inch circle, and the top layer is 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 with a 2 1/2 inch circle.
