Christmas Tags with Authentique and Helmar

This week Helmar and Authentique had the opportunity to show you how well the two products work together. I'm totally impressed with the Authentique papers we got to play with…so impressed I couldn’t stop creating!

Authentique paper has such a great weight I knew I needed to try my Vagabond and several Sizzix dies…I felt these papers would stand up to a good amount of embellishments and would be perfect for tags and gift tags. I also made several rosettes {not my favorite thing to do} and was very impressed at how the Authentique papers responded to this technique! Of course I had to add a little shine to these and found Viva Décor Inka Gold to be perfect!

When working with quality papers Helmar Adhesives are a must have! I’m guaranteed that anything I attached to these projects are going to still be there!

Fun and Games with Authentique and Helmar

So this week we have been teaming up with AUTHENTIQUE PAPER and it has been borderline amazing.  Prepare to be amazed:

To adhere the photos and paper, I used Quickfix Adhesive Runner.  For some weird reason, I had issues making my letter stickers stay put, so I dabbed the backs a bit with the liquid Quick Dry Adhesive and it did the trick. It is my testimony that I could not (and WOULD NOT want to) scrapbook with out those two things!

Holiday Gift Box and Surprise!

If you watched our UStream presentation last night, you saw me go through the steps for this holiday gift tin and gift!  If you missed it, you can see it again here.   I will just share some of the close up images for this project.  I love these little tins and was lucky to find some at my LSS that someone collected.  They are empty cigar tins from the Dominican.  I bet Altoid tins or other metal container would work just as well!
Here is the tin opened and you can see that I covered the lid and base with paper.  A corner rounder was perfect to help them fit nicely inside.  I used Helmar's Decoupage glue and paste to apply the paper.

Here's a detail of the embellishments which are all Prima products except the ribbon which is  Snug Hug seam binding.  That stuff is awesome for any project!

The papers are perfect for any occasion but I love the pinks, reds, greens and teal colors for Christmas too!

Emboss the edges of the metal tin to hide the printed sides and create some texture.  I used Helmar's Crackle Step 1 for the adhesive for the embossing powder.  WOW embossing powders are awesome with many materials! 

Surprise!!  Here is the little gift inside the tin.  I created a handmade necklace with paper, a clear facet, rub on, bling, and chain.   I added embossing powder on the back for a similar look to the outside of the tin.

A winner for the OCTOBER Challenge

We must apologise for the lack of announcement for this Months Challenge.  It totally slid under the radar....

But better late than never, so we would like to congratulate TRACEYM for her entry in October.

This project stood out to me with her fabulous rosettes that she made with none other than Helmar 450 Quickdry....this is THE best glue for rosettes too, as it dries so fast you can secure the folds as you work.

A FAST and EASY Advent Calendar using Authentique and Premium Craft Glue

Hi Everyone! Lisa here and I am so excited to share with you a very fast and easy way to create an advent calendar to hang on your wall using the GORGEOUS  Authentique Festive Christmas papers, some Helmar Premium Craft Glue and just some basic supplies you probably have hanging around your house!

 

Cute, huh? And SO SIMPLE!!!!

I started with a handful of clothespins, some cardboard (a cereal box works great). I cut out two patterned paper circles, then one cardboard circle to sandwich in the middle of them, with a good layer of Premium Craft Glue.  Next I glued 24 regular sized clothes pins all the way around the outside of the circle. The base only took me about 10 minutes to create but looked so pretty with the papers from Authentique and the Helmar Glue made the process go so much faster!

 

Next, I added a simple design in the center for holding the countdown day. I used a scalloped circle punch to punch the circle and added a smaller sized clothes pin to finish it off.

 

Next I punched 24 little circles for the days and added stickers from pretty Little Studio that coordinated perfectly! I loved using the half circle numbers since they allowed for overlapping perfectly!

I cannot wait to countdown to Christmas... how about you???

Hello! Liz here to share a joyful layout with you using papers from Authentique's Festive collection and of course the best adhesive ever, Helmar!

 

Could these papers be any more beautiful and jolly? I think not. :)

 

I cut out my own ornaments with my stash of die cuts and stung them with baker's twine. To give them extra dimension and height I used Helmar's foam Zapdots. This makes it look like they are actually hanging from the top of my page.

Make sure to use Helmar's Acid Free Glue on your layouts so your precious photos will last the test of time.

 

Getting into the spirit of gift giving

Hi everyone, Beck Beattie here again to share some quick and easy gift ideas to hopefully inspire you at this busy gift giving time of year.  

The first is a cute way to pretty up a plain tin.  The tin could be filled to create a beautiful hamper as a gift for someone special.  It can then be used to store those little nic naks that everyone has lying around the house, in a much neater and prettier way.

For a smaller gift, I found these cute little piccolo Sparkling wine bottles that came in a cute little 4 pack.  I just couldn't resist altering it with some paper and embellies to bring it into the festive season. They are great as a little gift or even as a hostess gift for any parties you may be attending as a nice way to say Thank-you.  

I used my He lmar450 Quick Dry for the ribbon and my and Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to add the flowers and leaves.  That gave it such strong bond, while still allowing for dimension in the arrangement.

I started with this box.  I used the box to create a template on some cardstock by tracing around the sides and then cutting it out.  I then took my Helmar 450 Quick Dry and adhered the paper to the packaging.  I added some ribbon, die cut paper pieces and flowers to finish it off.  It came together so quickly using my Helmar 450 Quick Dry!

I hope that my little share today inspire you to create some of the many gifts you'll be giving over the Holiday Season.

It's beginning to look like Christmas

Hi, Vicky blogging today. Well, the Chrismas countdown has already started in my house and next weekend I will officially be starting to fill the boxes in my new advent calendar. I altered the Dusty Attic chipboard advent calendar with a alot of various distress inks and stains to give it an antiqued look. All together this was about a 10-hour project to complete (but worth it!).

My trusted Helmar's 450 quick dry came to the rescue to hold all of the the boxes together and the Premium craft glue was very helpul too with the paper "layout" insert and embellishments. The papers are Fabscraps and the silver "snow" bling is Want2Scrap (a Helmar preferred partner).

Here is another view. I used Helmar's decoupage paste to adhere the paper to the front of the boxes and sanded the edges.

Here is another Christmas project that I've completed this month - a vintage looking door hanger (in place of a wreath). I used papers from Meg's Garden and some beautiful 2Crafty Chipboard pices. I used Helmar's decoupage paste to adhere the pretty paper to a cardboard bracket background I made and then used a lot of 450 quick dry to hold all of the chipboard and flowers on.

Hello all.

 

I am most excited to be able to share this Helmar project I created just recently with you all.

 

First to explain just a little about the project...

 

I absolutely adore creating things for other people. I also love being able to create something with a bit of meaning behind it. So bearing all that in mind I recently had a trip up to Townsville. Now before the trip I had it set in my mind that I wanted to be able to create a little something for the Woman's Hospital where my first child was born and became a little angel in heaven at the same time. The staff at the hospital were amazing and have been a great support to me and my family ever since. This year marked a special anniversary with it being his sixteenth birthday. So I wanted to be able to give back to all those special people that work in the Neonatal ward. I find the work, love and support that they put into their job truly amazing and have been blessed to have had them help myself and my family throughout the past years.

 

So.. with all this in mind I wanted to create something that could be hung up to remind everyone how precious time is and to not take anything for granted. Life is just too precious in my mind.

 

I created a canvas for the ward that was about 30" x 40" in size. I had lots of fun making so much mess with some Helmar Decoupage Paste, napkins and texture paste to create this canvas base.

 

 

I coloured my texture paste using an iridescent red paint. However because I also wanted to add some depth to the canvas with some script stamping, once the paint was dry I sprayed the whole canvas with a light layer of Helmar Cystral Kote Fixative. This prevented any running. Once I had finished all the stamping I then gave the whole canvas a coat of Helmar Crystal Kote Matte Vanish. This took any shine out of the base from all the adhesives and also seal the whole base nicely.

 

Using Helmar Liquid Scrapdots to adhere the embellishments to the canvas meant the I could create a lot of depth and dimension to the base with so much ease. And the best bit was that I knew with all the help from my trusted Helmar products that the canvas would stand the test of time without anything falling off.

 

I had stamped butterflies onto transparency paper that I had adhered napkins to. To adhere them to the base I used a dab of Helmar 450. It adhered them nicely to the texture paste with little effort.
