Hello fellow artists ;) Today I would like to share my art journal pages I created using Helmar and PanPastels for our promo week. Now you might ask what are PanPastels? Here's what the company wants you to know:
"PanPastel are artist's pastel in a pan. Mix, blend, layer & apply like paint. Ultra soft. Low Dust. 80 Highly pigmented colors. For painting, drawing & mixed media art."
My thought was to show you how PanPastels work on an art journal page that was already created using acrylic inks. Also using various materials to show that they can be applied over most that you might use in your artwork. I used Helmar Acid Free Glue to apply all my materials my journal pages. When I'm working with paper to paper applictions I only use this glue and here's why:
"Helmar Acid Free glue has been specifically formulated for memory albums, book binding, mounting photographs, preserving old or precious books, documents, scrap books, most craft projects, etc.
Excellent adhesion to dense papers, high flexibility, long term life of the bond. Sets clear, dries quickly and will not yellow with age."
So let's take a look!
Background page created with acrylic paints. Collaged vintage music pages with Helmar Professional Acid Free Glue
Applying Pan-Pastels with the Angle Slice Art Sponge to create a depth of color over the acrylic paint.
Applied Pan-Pastels over collaged and gessoed vintage sheet music
Applied Versamark over a stencil and then PanPastels over the Versamark ink
Tissue paper, vintage book pages, washi tape applied with Helmar Professional Acid Free Glue and applied several colors of PanPastels over entire section.
Stamped image on journal paper, applied Helmar Professional Acid Free Glue and applied PanPastel with Soffit Knife Tool
More stamped images applied with Helmar Professional Acid Free Glue. Stamped image directly over PanPastels.
I hope you will give this amazing product a try. I found that using PanPastels over acrylic intensified and saturated the color. The one thin to note is that you will have yo spary your projects with a fixative...and a lttle birdie told me that Helmar will be bringing to the US a fabulous fixative product, which I did use, but I'm not suppose to talk about it. SO...we have to keep it our little secret :)
Have a great day!!!!
