I don't know about you, but Spring has been slow to start in my neck of the woods. Flowers are just starting to pop out! I wanted a home decor piece that would brighten my house. I created this "terrarium" using all paper and Prima flowers along with Helmar 450 Quickdry, Gemstone glue, and ZapDots.
I had an extra glass cake stand with dome that I used for this project. I used a metal lid as the base to glue the outside layer onto. I covered the metal lid rim with paper and felt ribbon and used the Helmar 450 Quickdry adhesive to ensure good contact. I then used my die cutter to cut foliage from patterned papers and added a small paper mache lid and plastic cup in the center.
I covered them with the die cut leaves and flowers with the ZapDots to have some pop out in the between spaces. I glued flowers and paper leaves from Prima to fill spaces.
Using Helmar Gemstone Glue, I adhered gems and pearls to centers of flowers and throughout the terrarium. This glue does not dull the gems at all!
I added flowers and ribbon to the lid and the 450 Quickdry held on to the glass perfectly! This beauty is a burst of color on an otherwise rainy and grey day! When you live in Central New York, you have lots of grey days... I need all the color I can get!
Happy Spring! Take time to smell the flowers (even if they are paper...LOL!).
