Hi all! Kiki here today to show you a recent project I had a lot of fun with using a mixed media kit from Gauche Alchemy.
I started off the project with a canvas board that I had on hand and used some of the great papers that came in the kit, and collaged them onto the board using Helmar Découpage and Craft Paste to ensure that I had a really good hold on the canvas. Then the real fun began!
I sprayed through the punicella in black and then used the stamp that came with the kit in sepia to contrast. started layering some fabric cut from the swatches in the kit, and made shabby flowers out of them, and used some extra fabric, lace and more to create some layering.
I also cut up some of the sequin waste to give the piece more unexpected texture. It was fabulous to play with, given that there were so many unusual and unexpected embellishments to play with. Putting them to use on the canvas was fun! I used Helmar Fabric Glue for most of the fabrics. For some of the beads and buttons, I used Helmar Gemstone Glue and Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.
I topped the piece off using gesso and modelling paste to make everything a little more shabby. I really love how this turned out, and it's going to be hung on a wall in our home very soon!
