Happy Wednesday Helmar Fans! Kate here today to share with you one of my specialty "she girl" cards. It is so easy to create and protect these "she girl" cards with the help of some Helmar Decoupage & Craft Paste and Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.
I created this sweet girl for my sister-in-law, Dawn. She is a wonderful woman with a strong, strong faith.
I started by spreading Helmar Decoupage & Craft Paste on a 4" x 5.5" piece of Sticky Back Canvas with a craft sponge.
To this wet glue canvas, I added green polka-dotted tissue paper. A scrunch here and there, then I dried the tissue paper with a heat gun. This created the base for my canvas.
On top of the tissue paper, I created my muli-media background with lots of gesso and paint.
Next I got to designing my "she girl." I cut out my pieces of book paper and patterned paper to take shape of the body and dress.
I applied Helmar Decoupage & Craft Paste both underneath and on top of each section as I built the girl.
When my girl was complete, I finished the canvas by adding some stamped images in Archival Ink (it must be Archival). Once the ink was dry, I added another coat of Helmar Decoupage & Craft Paste to protect the canvas.
The sticky back canvas was then mounted on a 4.25" x 5.75" piece of black cardstock. I added embellishments to dress up my girl and then glued the mounted canvas on a 4.5" x 6" card base with Helmar Premium Craft Glue.
These cards are such a joy to make and are always appreciated. I think part of it is because I try to capture a bit of the person receiving the card in each and every "she girl" card I give.
Here are a couple more "she girl" cards I have made...
I hope you have enjoyed my tutorial today. We would love to see anything you create with Helmar products! Please share them on our Helmar FaceBook Fan Page.
