Hi Helmar fans! Christine back on the blog with you today and ready to share a fun new technique I discovered! I made my own Curly Q's using bakers twine and the fabulous Helmar Fabric Stiffener and Draping Liquid! I also used the Helmar Craft Glue on my card as it dries quickly and works for all sorts of embellishing!
Just wait until you see how easy this is!
Put a little bit of the Fabric Stiffener into a bowl. I used it sparingly (you can always add more). Then drop your twine in and swirl it around with a paint bruch until you think it is coated. Take it out and run the length of the bakers twine thru your fingers to remove the excess.
Wrap it around a pencil and allow it to dry overnight. When you go to remove it, it will feel like it is stuck on the pencil. Don't let that frighten you, just pry off one end and then remove the whole thing slowly. It will hold it's shape perfectly and then you have a springy curly Q! As you can see this also works great for ribbon - I am saving those ones for another project!
You can see from this picture how solid that Curly Q is!
So there you have it! A simple way to add some extra wow to your creations using our Fabric Stiffening and Draping Liquid!
