Happy Independence Day!! I'm so excited to be sharing my creation with you on this day. On this day as we spend time laughing, playing and spending time with our family; I'll also be taking pictures and adding them to this "Fourth of July" themed smash book.
This is such a great way to create a quick themed journal to use while on vacation, at events, etc. This will allow you to capture your memories while on the go and instantly place them in a journal to enjoy.
This journal cover is full of stars, bright yet vintange colors and a bit of bling. Overall a show of patriotic love. Let's get started on how I created this textured dimension for the cover.
To start, I begin creating fanned paper flowers for the cover by cutting strips of patterned paper, scoring and folding each piece. To adhere all of my layers, including the paper flowers I used Helmar Craft & Hobby PVA glue.
Begin assembling the flowers add adhesive to the edges to connect both ends. Cut a mini circle of felt to add to the bottom of your flower then press out your fan. Also add a dot of adhesive to the bottom of the felt to adhere the flower to your project.
To add dimension to the cover, I used Helmar 1/2" round double sided Zapdots under a layer of pattern paper. Adding layers and dimension to your creations truly adds life to the project.
And there you have it, a fun and simple journal that's just waiting to add memories to. Memories to cherish with family and friends for a lifetime.
Have a wonderful and safe holiday!
