Hi Veronica here today to share with you some home decor.
I have seen these paper mache trees at craft stores and have thought each year, "I'm going to make one." Well, finally I did!
I also wanted to try out the Helmar Tacky Craft Glue because it is an "all purpose" glue for crafts. While at the craft store I found some snowflake jewels that I thought would look good on my tree, so I used my Helmar Fabric Glue to adhere my snowflakes.
Here are my steps:
1. Choose a color to paint your paper mache trees. I chose gold.
2. Cut several burlap strips approximately one inch wide.
3. Using a brush to smooth out your Tacky Glue; paint your trees with glue one section at a time. Then start to wrap your burlap strips around your trees.
Once your trees are wrapped in burlap, now you can decide how you will decorate them. I have a country style Christmas tree so I chose to paint one of my paper mache trees and adhere snowflake jewels to my second tree. Do remember though, that if you have a traditional or elegant decorating style you could use any ribbon or string to wrap your tree to the style that fits your home.
I chose to paint red dots on one tree with my red sorbet paint and my stencil.
My second tree I decorated with snowflake jewels and ahdered them with my Fabric Glue.
I am getting excited for Christmas, my tree is almost up and my presents are mostly all wrapped. Next comes baking! My scrappy friends and I are getting together for a crop soon and we were talking about a cookie exchange. I am going to bake some cookies and shock them, they know I do not normally bake. It does not mean I can't bake, so I will surprise them with Christmas cookies.
Happy Scrapping and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
