Nicole here on the blog today and my last blog post for this design term. I've loved my time with Helmar and have had a great time creating numerous projects for the blog. Helmar products always make any project come together quickly and the most important part, stay together.
For my last post I thought I would share my new front door decor. I've made quite a few wreaths and door decorations over the years, but they have all been for a holiday or season. This is the one that will hang up for the every day.
I started by making a card stock template that I traced on to three different pieces of chipboard.
I didn't have any thick chipboard on hand so I made due by making my own and gluing the three pieces of chipboard together with Helmar Craft Glue.
Next I used a dowel and started putting together the book paper rolls.
Start with one end and roll paper over the dowel.
Secure the edge of the paper with Helmar Craft Glue.
Slide the paper roll off the dowel once the glue has dried.
Repeat this process until you have enough book paper rolls to cover the letter.
Start gluing these rolls to the chipboard base.
I worked in small sections gluing down several and then flipping the base over and trimming off the overhang with scissors.
Here is the finished base.
I finished the letter off with ribbon and card stock flowers that I attached with Helmar Craft Glue and Helmar Zapdots.
Thanks for stopping by the blog and I hope you give my tutorial a try.
Happy Crafting
