Good morning everyone, Steph Ackerman here to share some New Year's cheer with you. Can you believe that another year has come to an end! It's amazing how fast time flies these days. Here's hoping the New Year is a wonderful journey for you.
I've had these paper mache hats for a long time and figured it was time to use them so I went through my stash and created hats for my husband and myself. And Paulie loves them too.
I wanted a matte black for the hats so I painted them with Earth Safe Finishes Licorice Chalk It Up Paint. For added bling, I painted a layer of DecoArt Liquid Sequins on top. I wanted one hat to be fun and funky so I used Helmar Fabric Glue to adhere the fabric around one hat.
I wanted the second hat to be fun and a little bit vintage so I tied tulle around the hat, tying it into a bow at the back.
Then I used Helmar Fabric Glue to add the gems about the tulle.
I painted paper numbers with Cherry Jubliee Chalk It Up paint then painted the letters with DecoArt Liquid Sequins. Once dry, I used Helmar Premium Craft Glue to adhere the numbers to the hats.
And here's Paulie showing off one of the hats.
Here's wishing that 2016 is a wonderful year.
