Hi everyone, Vicki-Ann here today and I have a little project that I thought might be handy to have on my desk. I am always looking for some note paper or just something to mark a page in a book or magazine.
So thought I would make a little folder with a pocket to keep all of those things together in one spot.
So first I gathered all the things I am always looking for. Notepaper, sticky notes to mark pages and something to write a list on.
Using a manila file folder, I folded it so it had a spine to it. So that it folded covering up my notebooks inside. I then placed my widest notebook on it and marked how wide it was leaving a slight gap on either side. I left the height as is and I just folded the base up to make a pocket for the inside. I wanted it high enough so that I could just slot my patterned notebook in on the right. That leaves a pocket on the left to tuck anything inside I might need to keep. All these sizes just depend on what size your notebooks are.
Mine ended up being approx 9 1/2" high by 4"wide with an inside pocket of 3" high.
Using the Helmar Craft Glue I covered the inside and outside with a pretty 6 1/2" Kaisercraft paper pad called Dream Big. Then covered any joins with Washi tape. I used a round blending tool and distress ink in spiced marmalade and distressed all the inside and outside edges. If you were using large sheets of paper you could just cover both sides with a sheet each but I kind of like the different papers with the washi tape to cover the edges. I have so much washi tape that it was nice to use some.
I used more of the Helmar Craft Glue on the cardboard on the back of the white lined notebook and stuck it on the inside left of the covered file folder.
I then did the same with the sticky notes but placed them on the outside of the pocket on the bottom left. I also glued the inside centre folded spine part of the inside pocket this made my folder quite sturdy.
So just a manila file folder, washi tape, a few sheets of pretty paper and my Helmar Craft Glue and I have everything all in one spot. I am feeling so organised.
I will be making a few more, think they will make great gifts.
