I love decoupaging. Yes, I am publicly declaring my love for the Decoupage and Craft Paste. It can be used straight out of the jar or you can dilute it with a little water to make it thinner for more fragile papers. I have DecoArt Decoupage papers and I loved using them below for the quick frame I decorated. I found the frame in a dollar bin from Michaels, it is wooden, flat surfaced and has a heart cut out on it, so I had to have it! Let me show it to you!!
I first removed the contents from the heart shaped cut out. Then I covered the surface with the Decoupage & Craft Paste with a dry brush. I could wet the brush a little, because the paste is really thick. Maybe a damp brush will allow the paste to slide across the surface more freely. I also cut the heart out then I laid the paper down and smooth it out with an old plastic card.
Then I took some scraps from another patterened paper in my decoupage kit and cut some petals for a few flowers. I laid them on the front of the frame and then used buttons for the flower centers. Once everything was dry....I used my black Sharpie china pencil to make detailed markings on the petals. I found a quote I had on some vellum and I cut it out and placed it in the frame you can always remove the heart and place what you like, as you like. I used my Quick Dry 450 and placed the buttons as flower centers on the frame's surface.
Spring will be here in a matter of weeks. What will you be using to freshen up the look of your home, office or work area, so it feels like spring on the inside? Even more importantly, what will you be adding to your diy/craft arsenal from HELMAR to make sure that it is all possible? Have a great weekend and THANK YOU for stopping by!!
