Happy Father´s Day! Hello dear friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you a card that I made to celebrate one of the most important family days using different materials in one single card, just like dad usually does to help us. First take a look at my card:
To create this card I used card stock, metal sheet, metallic card stock and clay. And the best part is I was able to assemble and paste all the parts using only three different adhesives from Helmar because I wanted my card with a lot of dimension.
First, create the base of the card. For this I used Basic Black card stock of 4-1/4"x11" with score in 5-1/2". Then, cut a second layer using Red Metal Sheet. The size of this layer is 4"x5-1/4" and dry emboss this using the Diamond Plate Embossing Folder from Darice.
Using a sand block or sand paper create a distress over the race up part to erase the color of the metal and create a special effect. If you want you can erase the color applying alcohol with a cotton tip on the parts when you want to remove the color.
Paste the embossed metal layer over the card base using Helmar Craft & Hobby PVA Glue.
Cut a banner of metallic gray card stock. The size is 5-1/2"x1-/2" and paste over the center of the decorated base using Helmar Craft & Hobby PVA Glue.
Cut a third layer using card stock basic black and a cross stitched rectangular framelit. You will stamp your sentiment over this. In my sample I used Wow embossed pad, White Embossing Powder and one image from the stamp set Dad´s Day of Joy Clair.
Paste this layer over the card using 1/2"square zapdots.
To decorate the card I made some embellishments using Makin's Clay White and Push Molds with Hand Tools forms. You don't need to bake this clay, only wait a few hours until it dries.
To paste the hand tools over the card you can use Helmar Premiun Craft Glue, it dries clear, quickly and works perfectly with the polymer clay material.
Here is another photo of the dimension of the card:
Like I said at the beginning of this post, you can use the Helmar Products to paste many kinds of materials. In today's project I pasted two, metal sheets and clay, that aren't easily to use with regular glues.
I hope my project inspired you with new techniques to try on your creations! We would love to see them!Thank you for stopping by and see you soon!
