Happy Thread A Needle Day!
Jean here, and I want to thank you for celebrating with me! Get out your sewing machine or sew by hand. It doesn't matter - either counts!!
For this project, I turned to my sewing machine and Helmar's Fabric Glue:
It has been almost 2 years since my daughter got married but I am still scrapping the photos of that amazing day!
I started by gluing and then sewing a piece of canvas paper to the background paper.
I also stitched the edge of the title:
and sewed the lace trim on.
I knew I wanted lace style flowers and decided to create one out of the lace I used for the border. I cut two inch pieces and using the Fabric Glue, added them to a cardstock circle base. I just bunched and pleated until I got the shape right. I added a layer of netting as well. Topped it with a center and pearl beads.
Here is a close up of the finished flower.
And here is the complete layout ---
I used the Fabric Glue to adhere the flower trim. By using Zapdots, I was able to add dimension to the title and car. The Fabric Glue was also used to adhere the paper squares with the heart and date.
Thank you for joining me for Thread a Needle Day. I hope you enjoyed this introduction to Helmar Fabric Glue. It is perfect for any projects which involve fabric including scrapbooking!!
Beautiful layout!! I love the handmade flowers, great job!
