Instead of planning and creating a project featuring Helmar Premium Craft Glue, I decided to use it to glue a
variety of items on an art journal page. The end result is nice but it wasn't a planned piece of art,
just a way to put this glue to the test.
I started off with a journal that had good quality text-weight pages then created a background using the following:
Golden Gesso
Tattered Angels Shimmers in Red, Yellow and Blue
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in True Turquoise
Tattered Angels Chalkboard Mist in Ruby Slipper
Tattered Angels High Impact Paint in Orange
Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze in Purple Passion
Dylusions Acrylic Paint in Fresh Lime
DecoArt Media Mister in Shimmer Turquoise
I added some texture to the background with these elements:
Joggles Stencil - Bubble Blast
Golden Molding Paste
Paper Napkin
Helmar Decoupage and Craft Paste
Daddy Van's All Natural Beeswax Furniture Polish
Next I began attaching different kinds of embellishments just to see how well the
Helmar Premium Craft Glue would hold:
Collage Scraps
Gel Medium Transfer Decals
Industrial Gears from 7gypsies
Cardboard Flower
I have to admit, I was surprised it held everything so well! Take a closer look:
Metal gears held on to a waxed surface.
A varnished cardboard flower was toned down with Tattered Angels Decor & DIY Acrylic Paint in Crystal. The smaller paper flower was glued on top of the varnished surface and held firmly.
This melted plastic slide mount from my stash was no challenge for Helmar Premium Craft Glue.
A wooden clothespin was tinted with Tattered Angels Baseboard Mists in Fire and Sunburst, Glimmer Mist in Denim Blue, and Glimmer Glaze in Bleu Cheese. Random pieces of ephemera and scraps of 7gypsies papers were muted with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists in Kraft, Tattered Leather, and Walnut Gold.
Small Ice Resin pieces also held tight.
Not bad for an experimental page!
