Hi, Jean here for Helmar today. I am so happy to have you join me!
According to the calendar, Fall is here. However, I think someone forgot to tell Mother Nature as it is still in the 80's in Michigan and my Aussie friends tell me they're still getting cold snaps!
But, I am ready for the cooler temps, the leaves to change color and to begin the season of decorating! Today I am going to show you a fun way to preserve those colorful leaves that you and the family collect!
Collect a variety of leaves and dry them so there is no moisture on them. Simply apply a coat of Helmar Decoupage to both the front and the back. Allow to dry completely.
Prepare your wreath by adding a variety of ribbons and strips of canvas adhering them well with the Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive
Once the leaves are dry, assemble them again using the 450 to secure. This glue does dry quickly, so I decided on my arrangement before I started gluing. I did adhere all of the leaves and canvas flower to a piece of cardboard which I then adhered to the wreath. This kept them together and prevented the leaves from flopping over.
And here is my wreath which is now gracing the front door!
I love this way of preserving leaves! They could be used for many more projects such as table decor, on frames and even for scrapbook pages!
Thank you for joining me. Don't forget to visit the Helmar store for information on these products. They have everything for your crafting needs! And visit the facebook page for more inspiration and to share your projects with us!!
