Hello everyone. I have a journal I am working on for my grandkids. They will "find" it probably when we are gone. But, it will tell them a little about our lives and what we did during the year.
The supplies I used are listed below but you can use anything you would like in your journal.
Designer paper
junk mail (like the advertisements you get for voting and such that is heavy duty)
script stamp
used postage stamps
button
stencil
vintage photo
old card I had made in the past (but not finished)
Helmar Decoupage and Craft Paste
Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive
craft paint
sandpaper
kids
Using a piece of junk mail make an envelope. Cut and fold your piece to reseble an envelope. I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive to glue the bottom and sides of my envelope. After the envelope is done, you can decorate it any way you choose. I painted mine then used a script stamp to stamp on it then a stencil with letters on it. While that is all drying, take your book you are using, I picked mine up at a local thrift shop. It is a heavy page kids book. I decoupaged each page using Designer paper and Helmar Decoupage and Craft Paste.
I then took my handmade envelope and attached it to the first page using Helmar 450 Adhesive and then added used stamps and a button to the envelpe. I put a letter to my grandkids inside the envelope to read when they are older. On the opposite page, I took an old card I had made and never finished, glued that onto the page added another small envelpe to the front and made a tag to go into the envelope. The inside of the card and the back of the tag are two more places you can journal on. This is and will be a fun project to keep adding to and to make. Thank you for joining us today and don't forget to stop by Helmar and check out all the wonderful adhesives, and more, they have to offer.
