I will be the first to admit I am truly addicted to making my own planner clips. I mean how can I not be? As a true paper crafter I love paper, embellishments and other bits and bobs as they become available. As a self proclaimed paper crafter enthusiast, the only glues I grab are created by Helmar. I don't use a glue gun and in most cases it would be dangerous to have one in my house ::chuckles::
Well let me show you what I have been playing around with.
Supplies needed to created my banner style planner clips include"
Helmar Premium Craft Glue (clear)
Cardstock (double sided -decorative)
Paper Clips (regular and jumbo)
Prima Distress Tool
Rubber stamps
Ink Pad (archival)
Embellishments - Trims, Words , Handmade Washi Tape
I begin by cutting my paper down to the appropriate size, based on the paper clip I am using. and the I distress the edges.
I then use the Super Tac, because not only is it a strong glue, it is also super fast tack! I'm not burning my fingertips to use a glue gun on this small project or any for that matter! ::smiles::
I then get out my Premium Craft Glue to adhere the plastic faux rhinestones. Sure I could have used Super Tac, but I immediately think the clear premium is better on this because the trim gets a chance to snuggle to the paper and if I apply to much it won't matter, because the glue dries clear and and has a bit of an additional shine to any excess.
I add some of my homemade washi to the banner base and switch back to the Super Tac, not because of how fast it sticks, but because it's more fluid and allows my paper piece to lay as flat as I need it to be against the washi tape. ::thinking its a nice touch to add some positive word/names to refer to ourselves:: I used a small point to add the glue to the backside.
Finally added even more ribbon or trim, just because I can with the Premium Craft glue.
And V OI L A!! nice and cute planners paper clips you can put within your books or planners or even just on front to remind you or whoever you gift it to, that they are... a champion.. a warrior.. a teacher.. and they are part of a family, a tribe or sisterhood.. ::smiles:: Hope you try to make some!! Don't forget to choose the adhesives that had YOU and YOUR PROJECTS in mind, when the adhesives were created and that's HELMAR WORLDWIDE!
