Hey there Helmar fans
The theme for this post is "Dreams" I decided on a card featuring dream catchers.
I love dream catchers, I have this sweet stamp in my stash that I have been keen to try.
Here is my completed card. Keep reading - I'll share with you the adhesives I used and some tips on how to easily create a card like this.
I used 2 of my regular favourite products to create this card.
I started by stamping out several of the images on smooth white card.
I had decided on 3 images on the actual card front then stamped extra on another piece of card so that I could cut them out & layer them.
I used an ink that won't bleed when adding water colour.
I very gently painted colour on to the images using a water colour set from my stash.
Gently paint all the images directly on the card base & the extra ones you stamped for layering.
I decided to create dimension on 2 of the 3 dream catchers on the card - as I find it is more pleasing to the eye, creating interest.
Once the water colour paint is dry - cut the extra images out.
Set aside while you work out the assembly & matting of your card.
I chose a geometric pattern in the same colours & the paint I chose. I adhered the patterned paper to my white card base & the 2 layers together using the Helmar Acid Free Glue.
Here is a little tip...when I use an adhesive on a larger area like the layers on the card base - I like to used an old store card to apply it thinly & evenly by gently scraping it along the paper.
I used the Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots on the images that I had chosen to create a 3D look with.
I applied the scrap dots directly on to the base image so I could see what I was doing.
I then placed the additional images on top pressing down just lightly until I achieved the height I liked.
Here is a side view so you can see the dimension.
Once all layers were in place I stamped a sentiment, added a bit more water colour & flicked some paint light around to add some more interest. I also added some sparkle to the dream catcher images using a Spica/Glitter pen (it's difficult to see in the photos - but adds the extra bling)
Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you've enjoyed my share.
