Hello Helmar fans today I have a small wall art for you to create! I had a friend who had a baby girl so I thought I would hand make a piece of wall art for her room. Butterflies and girls go together! I had an idea to use a embroidery hoop as a frame. So first I cut a same sized circle in heavy white card stock to provide a backing for my picture. I used Helmars Premium Craft Glue to attach card to hoop and set aside to dry.
I had already planned to use the word Love as my title to add to picture. I wanted it in gold and so I lightly covered the word in Helmars premium craft glue an then added my glitter as below.
I chose a wood grain paper from my stash and cut the appropriate size (this is approximately 7 inches). Before attaching I machine sewed around the circle to add texture.
I then set it aside to dry and set about making my butterfly. I only used one piece of 12x12 scrapbooking paper to make my butterfly. If you do not have a Big Shot or cutting machine there are many templates on the internet for you to copy. The main thing is fringing it to give it depth and the illusion it is moving. Cutting a paper fringe is easy, just make sure your scissors are sharp and cut before you attach.
I then attached again using Helmar Premium Craft Glue.
I used Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to attach the body centre of the butterfly as I wanted to create a 3D effect.
Once my fringed butterfly was attached I then added my gold covered word Love off centre.
This is a simple craft to create but is so pretty and using the embroidery hoop as a frame really makes it something special and different.
I do hope you like this gift idea, the options are endless, a fringed heart, or a stack of hearts and for a boy you could create a layered star.
Thank you for stopping by today!
