For this project you will need the following:
Helmar Fabric Stiffner & Draping Glue
Embroidery hoop
Fabric of your choice - I have used Cheesecloth for this project
Paint and embellishments of your choice
Step 1: Apply the Helmar Fabris Stiffner & Draping Glue to your fabric. For this, I used a paint brush and placed the fabric in the embroidery hoop to hold it in place. Given the fabric is sheer, I also put a piece of plastic behind it to catch the glue as it went through the fabric. Leave to dry as per instrcutions on the bottle.
Step 2: Remove the fabric from the embroidery hoop. Apply paint (I used my fingers as I wanted a real handmade effect). I used Dylusions paints - the colours are just fab! Set aside to dry while you work on your embellishments.
Step 3: For my embellishments, I used two wooden veneer dream catchers from Whichcraft Do You Do. I coloured them with Studio Calico 'Deja Blue' ink, then clear embossed over the top of them.
Step 4: Trim the edge of your fabric away from embrodiery hoop. Apply Helmar Fray Stoppa - this is especially required for this kind of material as it frays very easily.
Step 5: Paint your embroidery hoop - I added some black Dylusions paint around the edge of the hoop to finish it off, again applied with my fingers. Leave it to dry.
Step 6: Adhere the embellishments. I have used twiine here with the dreamcatchers to give the look of them hanging from the hoop. The twine and dream catchers were adhered using Helmar 450 quick dry adhesive.
Once dry, I adhered some puffy sticker letters on to the piece and it was completed! Thankyou for joining me for this fun and colourful project!
