Hi there, Lisa here today to share a fun Halloween Project with you.
I live in Australia and we don't usually celebrate Halloween. When my kids were younger they did occasionally dress up & go trick or treating. So, I do have the odd photo to Scrapbook.
Our shops have more & more in the way of costumes & Halloween themed items in more recent years.
I was more than happy to do a project based on the theme as I am a sucker for any cute stickers etc & I really like the colour palette.
I decided on a Pocket Letter as you may be aware I like to send Happy Mail & I have lots of recipients that appreciate Halloween projects so I am sure it will find a good home to go to!
So here is my completed project:

Here are the stars of the show:

When I start a project I usually like to pull out a few things I plan to use for my project, then I can add things as I go.
This can be a really helpful way to make a start particularly if you have a big stash and it also saves you getting up & down constantly to get & or look for things.
Here is my collection of items I had out ready to start:

I used a coin collector's pocket for my pocket letter. The squares are a little over 2x2 inches.
I just like the look of them, you can use any sized pockets. Photo sleeves, Trading card pockets - work well too.

I like to start filling a few squares by keeping it basic - using patterned paper cut to size then build on that.

I LOVE the colours in this sequin mix! So straight in one of the pockets it goes.
I made this mix myself by adding various shades of the colours I wanted to work with along with some punched shapes.

I applied Liquid Scrap Dots straight to the top of one of the pockets so I could place the sticker of the spider on top but raised. I applied talc to the back of the sticker to remove the stick then sat it on the wet Liquid Scrap Dot.
Once it had dried a little - I roughly wound some white cotton around the spider to resemble a web.

I found Helmar 450 Quick Dry the best adhesive for applying things to the outside of the pocket when gluing flat.

I made my own tassel using embroidery thread.
The pics above show how I did this.

I used Helmar Acid Free Glue to adhere the end of the green thread around the tassel. I trimmed the tassel at the base to give it a nice straight & finished look.
Here is the finished tassel. As you can see I added a black sequin bow (adhered with 450 Quick Dry) a small black tassel & some beady eye stick ons.

I sealed the side of the pocket to hide the punched holes with some cute washi tape. I also sealed any pocket that had sequins in it - with thin washi so it can be removed, but keeps them in the pocket.
I hope you have enjoyed my project share today - I'll leave you with some close ups.

Thanks for stopping by.
