Hi there!
Lisa here today to share my project that I have created using the fabulous RINEA foil.
We were all sent some of this fabulous material to play with, I was sent metallic & fuschia (today I have used the metallic.)
RINEA is foiled paper made from paper lined with colourful foil on both sides which gives it the quality of paper and foil at the same time.
It works with common paper crafting tools and can easily be embossed, die cut, punched, sanded, painted, stamped and written on. It will keep any shape it is given making it ideal for 3D projects.
It is perfect for scrapbooking, cards, home decor, ornaments, jewellery and mixed media art.
This is what I came up with...
I decided to come up with something totally different as other members of out DT have shown you some fab crafty projects already.
Do you like to make your own gift wrapping or decorate a gift so that its pretty & unique?
In this quick tutorial I'll show you how to make this basic bow & how to decorate the present really quickly & easily.
My choice of adhesive today was:
Helmar Premium Craft Glue
This glue allowed me time to move things slightly - whilst still drying quite quickly.
It also didn't leave any markings or alter the foil in any way.
I started with wrapping my gift in white tissue paper - as its what I had in my stash. I think glossy white paper would look great as would Kraft or black (depending on the colour of foil you have.
I cut one of the foil sheets down in to 1 inch strips.
I connected2 of the lengths of Rinea with a small piece of sticky tape - so I could work out my placement. (this will get covered later)
I wrapped the strip around the present - then glued the ends down on the back.
I gently folded another strip in a tubular fashion - slightly overlapping the ends & gluing them together. The clip is ideal to help hold it in place whilst the glue is drying.
Now that you have the centre of your bow you want to make what looks like the ends of the bow.
Place the centre of the bow in the middle of another length of Rinea - glue in place then cut end to length as required.
Use a smaller leftover piece of the Rinea foil to wrap around the centre of the bow & hold it all together.
A simple way to create a nice end on yourbow is to mark the centre with a pencil & ruler - then mark a cross point.
Cut from the end up to the cross point, then cut each corner up to the central cross point on the angle - using the lines as a guide.
After attaching the bow to the top of the gift I decided it needed a little extra.
Some Polka dots! who doesn't love dots - right?
So I punched quite a few circles using two different sized circle punches & randomly glue them on.
Here is a closer look at the finished project.
Oh I used a pencil to curl up the ends of the bow & open out the centre of the bow - by gently rolling it between the foil.
I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the Rinea foil - you absolutely have to check it out! The quality is amazing.
Keep your eyes peeled to see what the other DT members create, I will be back later In the month to show you a Valentines Day card using the gorgeous Fuschia foil.
Thanks for stopping by.
