Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a great day today and have been all creating up a storm!! Today I get to share with you all my newest creation for Helmar.
Over the past few months my amazing husband has been very busy building my new craft shed and I very nicely asked him to make me some shelves for my work area. So I thought I would share with you on how I revamped these shelves .
How awesome does my Helmar collection look? lol
These are the products I used and what the shelves looked like before I started. The spray paint I used are from Super Cheap Auto (an auto shop here in Australia) and were 4 for $10. I used Black, Gold and Bronze.
I started by applying a decent coat of the black spray paint.
Once the black was dry (which wasn't long), I then lightly sprayed the Gold spray paint. I wanted to get the industrial look so I used a swiping motion with the spray can making sure I didn't completely cover the black coat.
Using the same technique as above, I sprayed the last colour which was the Bronze onto the shelves and let them dry for a few hours.
To seal the shelves I used Helmar Crystal Kote Gloss Varnish. I applied 2 even coats to the shelves and let it dry for 24hrs before mounting them onto my wall. Make sure your area is well ventilated when using this varnish :-)
And here is the finished result!!!! I hope you enjoyed my quick tutorial and I hope it has inspired you to revamp something in your creative space, thanks for dropping by.
Farrel xx
