Hi everyone Vicki-Ann here today for the Helmar Creative Team.
I was happy to get the 4th of July post as I had found all these wonderful vintage images to use.
For this project you will need...
- Helmar Premium Craft Glue
- Tag or a manila folder cut to size of tag
- Ephemera, all my images for this were from thegraphicsfairy.com
- Scissors
- Tim Holtz Distress ink and blending tool
- Sewing machine
So I gathered all my images from thegraphicsfairy.com and resized them so I had smaller images to use. I liked researching thegraphicsfairy.com for the images. I used the liberty bell, a western union telegram. The Cincinnati Iron railings advert. The Chicago chemist label. The music was Yankee doodle dandy and the wonderful postcard image of the boy and the drum. Such fun images.
Then using my Helmar Premium Craft Glue I start to place my images.
As I do this, I use some Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress ink and my blending tool, to go around the edges of my images.
I pop a dot of Helmar Premium Craft Glue in the middle on the card stock, to hold my image in place so it does not move. Then I can sew and not worry about getting glue in my sewing machine mechanics.
I then sewed around my main image and around some of the images on my tag.
Then to add my main image. I use more of the Helmar Premium Craft Glue and press my image on were I want it to go on my tag.
The Helmar Premium Craft Glue for this worked so well as its slippery, so you can still move it a little into position.
If you get it on top of the image, you can just rub it off with a soft cloth.
