Hello there fellow Helmar lovers! Farrel here to today to share with you all my latest mixed media layout using the theme of planes. So for this post I decided to scrapbook a photo of myself waiting at the airport.
The first thing I did was create a plane from a mold I had in my stash and used Helmar Acid Free Glue. I dusted some baby powder to the mold first and then let the mold sit for about a day. If you are going to give this ad try please be aware that this glue is flexible so be gentle when you remove it from the mold.
Once it was dry, I painted the plane with TCW9002 Black Gesso and then using a brush, I applied some Art Alchemy Waxes.
For the layout I applied a thin coat of TCW9011 Gel Medium to the 49 and Market Captured Adventures patterned paper. Once it was dry I then added some sprays by 13@rts and Dylusions.
Next I used Travel Borders, Chevrons Small and To Travel Is To Live chipboard and covered with black gesso.
Then I added 3 colours from the Prima Art Alchemy Waxes - Rose Gold, White Gold and Aged Brass. I just used my fingers to apply these waxes.
I sprayed my flowers using Dylusions Slate Grey
Then added some stamping and Tissue paper to the background before adhering all my layers.
To adhere my photo to the photo mount and the other paper layers I used Helmar Acid Free Glue.
To adhere my plane, chipboard pieces and flowers to my layout I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.
Here are some close ups of the layout.
Thanks for dropping by and I hope this has inspired you be creative xx
